The essay presents the methodological process used for the analysis of the state of conservation and of the accessibility problems present in the church of Santa Maria in Valverde in Palermo, built in the 17th century. Nel Meridione d’Italia e in particolare in Sicilia detto compito era affidato alla “fossa della neve”. With the explosion of urban waterfront revitalization projects in the developed world, it is timely to reflect on the relations between cities and their rivers: how the rivers influenced development of the cities, how cities have treated their riverfronts since 19th century, and how the spatial relations of city and river constrain and enable improved connectivity between urban populations and their rivers. Revegetation through hydroseeding in degraded Mediterranean areas

Hydroseeding is a technique increasingly used to establish vegetation on degraded areas in order to perform environmental protection. The objective of this paper was to evaluate the effectiveness of four different hydroseeding methods on a degraded artificial slope in the southern Mediterranean area determining total vegetation cover, hydroseeding vegetation cover, hydroseeding success index (HSI), natural and hydroseeded vegetation height. The frescoes at marine thermae discovered in 1886 during the excavation of the small thermal complex dating between the 1th and 3rd century AD, and located on the seafront of Reggio Calabria, have been collected already collapsed. They are currently part of the permanent exhibition of the National Archaeological Museum of Reggio Calabria. This paper illustrates the results of the restoration intervention, carried out in the form of an educational activity in the context of an agreement signed between the MarRC and the University of Calabria, and the results of the diagnostic investigations carried out by the IPCF-CNR of Messina and the STEBICEF department of the University of Palermo.

Darbā ir aplūkota ūdens saikne ar cilvēku, peldošu būvju vēsture un attīstība mūsdienu pasaulē. Tiek aprakstīti galvenie peldošas būves interjera izveides principi – funkcija, apgaismojums, krāsu iedarbība, apdares materiāli un telpas sasaiste ar dabu. Darbs sastāvs no trijām nodaļām – teorētiskās daļas, pētnieciskās daļas, praktiskās daļas un apakšnodaļām. Darbā ir ietverti vizuālie materiāli ar attēliem tekstā un pielikumā.
