A DFT study for the formation of imidazo[1,2-c]pyrimidines through an intramolecular Michael addition

2006

The formation of imidazo[1,2-c]pyrimidines through a ring closure of 2-(2-sulfonylimino-1,2-dihydro-1-pyrimidinyl) acetamides has been studied using DFT methods. Analysis of the energy results for the cyclization step shows the demand of almost an acid catalyst, which increases the electrophilicity of the dihydropyrimidine moiety, in order to make feasible the intramolecular Michael addition. The substitution on both dihydropyrimidine and amide moieties has also an influence on the cyclization step.

Synthesis of Isoxazoline Derivatives through Boulton-Katritzky Rearrangement of 1,2,4-Oxadiazoles

2013

The base-induced rearrangement of 1,2,4-oxadiazoles into isoxazoline derivatives is reported. This represents the first example of a three-atom side-chain rearrangement that involves a saturated CCO side chain at C-3 of the oxadiazole. Nonaromatic 3-amino-isoxazoline derivatives are obtained in good yields. Interestingly, this reaction occurs through the rearrangement of aromatic oxadiazoles to form less stable bonds than those that are broken.

Determination of aminoglycoside and macrolide antibiotics in meat by pressurized liquid extraction and LC-ESI-MS

2010

A simple method for the simultaneous determination of dihydrostreptomycin, spectinomycin, spiramycin, streptomycin, tilmicosin, and tylosin in meat has been developed using pressurized liquid extraction and LC-triple quadrupole MS (LC-ESI-MS/MS). The pressurized liquid extraction operational parameters were optimized and no protein precipitating and fat removing steps were required. A gradient HPLC separation was developed with ion-pair mobile phases consisting of aqueous 1 mM heptafluorobutyric acid water and methanol. Protonated molecules were used as precursor ions for CID. Data acquisition under MS/MS was achieved by applying multiple reaction monitoring of three fragment ion transition…

Enantioselective organocatalytic intramolecular aza-Michael reaction: a concise synthesis of (+)-sedamine., (+)-allosedamine, and (+)-coniine

2007

The intramolecular aza-Michael reaction of carbamates bearing remote alpha,beta-unsaturated aldehydes under organocatalytic conditions took place with good yields and excellent ee's when Jorgensen catalyst IV was used in the process, giving rise to the enantioselective formation of several five- and six-membered heterocycles. The developed methodology was applied to the synthesis of three piperidine alkaloids.

ChemInform Abstract: Preparation and Nonlinear Optics of Monodisperse Oligo(1,4-phenyleneethynylene)s.

2010

Oligo(1,4-phenyleneethynylene)s 1a−e, with solubilizing propoxy side chains, were prepared by use of Hagihara−Sonogashira coupling reactions. The synthetic strategy was based on a building block system and on the use of trimethylsilyl and triisopropylsilyl protecting groups that could be cleaved selectively. The extension of the conjugation with an increasing number of repeat units provokes a bathochromic shift of the long wavelength absorption and a superlinear increase of the second hyperpolarizability |γ|. The corresponding third harmonic generation (THG) measurements were performed using polystyrene matrices and variable laser wavelengths. We conclude that the conjugation length is much…

Bis- and trisporphyrin bio-inspired models for bacterial antennas and photosystems

2011

This review presents the synthetic aspects and photophysical properties of trimeric systems constructed with a first unit consisting of a cofacial porphyrin and then of another porphyrin attached as a side arm. Two scenarios are dealt with. The first one is the case where the three chromophores are different, called donor 1–donor 2–acceptor, specifically where the cofacial fragment is composed of donor 1 and donor 2, and the side arm is the acceptor. They are considered as models for the apo-proteins used in the LH II (light harvesting device) in the purple photosynthetic bacteria. The second one is the case where the chromophores of the cofacial bisporphyrin residue are identical and are …

A quantum chemical topological analysis of the c-c bond formation in organic reactions involving cationic species

2014

ELF topological analysis of the ionic Diels-Alder (I-DA) reaction between the N,N-dimethyliminium cation and cyclopentadiene (Cp) has been performed in order to characterise the C-C single bond formation. The C-C bond formation begins in the short range of 2.00-1.96 Åvia a C-to-C pseudoradical coupling between the most electrophilic center of the iminium cation and one of the two most nucleophilic centers of Cp. The electron density of the pseudoradical center generated at the most electrophilic carbon of the iminium cation comes mainly from the global charge transfer which takes place along the reaction. Analysis of the global reactivity indices indicates that the very high electrophilic c…

Cyclocondensation of alpha-aminonitriles and enones: a short access to 3,4-dihydro-2H-pyrrole 2-carbonitriles and 2,3,5-trisubstituted pyrroles.

2009

The reaction of alpha,beta-unsaturated carbonyl compounds with aminoacetonitrile hydrochloride furnishes 3,5-disubstituted 3,4-dihydro-2H-pyrrole-2-carbonitriles in a one-pot reaction sequence. While these products can serve as starting materials for the preparation of polysubstituted pyrrolizidines, they are kinetically stable against the base-induced elimination of HCN. In contrast, their 2-substituted analogues obtained from alpha-substituted alpha-aminonitriles can be readily converted to the corresponding 2,3,5-trisubstituted pyrroles under microwave irradiation. The key step presumably involves the thermal electrocyclization of a stabilized 2-azapentadienyl anion formed by condensatio…

Addition of α-Aminonitriles to α,β-Unsaturated Carbonyl Compounds: A One-Pot Synthesis of Polysubstituted Pyrrolidines.

2003

The vinylogous addition of deprotonated N-alkyl-α-aminonitriles to α,β-unsaturated carbonyl compounds yields cyclic intermediates which can be reduced to form polysubstituted pyrrolidines in a one-pot reaction sequence. Since the cyano substituent is lost in the reduction step, the aminonitriles serve as easily accessible (N-alkylamino)-substituted carbanion equivalents.
