Communicating through ancillary gestures: Exploring effects on coperformers and audiences

Musicians make elaborate movements while performing, often using gestures that might seem extraneous. To explore these movements, we motion-captured and audio-recorded different pairings of clarinetists and pianists performing Brahms’ Clarinet Sonata No. 1 with two manipulations: (a) allowing the performers full vs. no visual feedback, and (b) allowing the performers full vs. partial auditory feedback (i.e., the clarinetist could not hear the pianist). The use of the French adjective “malsain” (usually translated in English as “unhealthy,” “unwholesome” or “sick”) to judge a work of art has led me to question the relevance of this metaphor, the way this value is determined, the reasons which lead the subject to consume shocking material and the possibility to distinguish art from mere symptom. I consider the unhealthy, on the one hand, as a relation of transmission which produces an aesthetic based on metaphor and metonymy, and on the other, as a subjective value delivered by a self or a law, and I argue that, as it is entirely discursive, the unhealthy is in effect an uncanny metonymy. Acyrthosiphon pisum es una especie de pulgón altamente estacional. Durante la estación favorable, únicamente se producen hembras partenogenéticas vivíparas (virginóparas). En otoño, cuando hay menos luz (el fotoperiodo es más corto), A. pisum percibe la diferencia y las virginóparas paren machos y luego hembras sexuadas (ovíparas). Analiza dokumentów i jego osobistych notatek pokazuje nam osobę bardzo pracowitego biskupa, który niewątpliwie należał do grona najaktywniejszych polskich ojców soborowych. Jego solidne wykształcenie, znajomość języków obcych, głęboka pobożność oraz gorliwa i roztropna działalność pasterska zjednały mu wielki szacunek w rzymskich komisjach, a także w gronie polskiego Episkopatu. Valoración y confianza de los espectadores de los programas de salud de TVE

Televisión Española (TVE) has made possible the dissemination of medical topics in the 2016 season through four specialized health programs: Saber vivir, Centro médico, Esto es vida and El ojo clínico. In order to better understand their reception by spectators, this study analyzes, on the one hand, the data from the audiometry and, on the other hand, the results of a survey launched through social networks. The questionnaire, responded by 158 followers of the programs, measured the value of the programs and the spectators’ confidence in their informative and audiovisual treatment. L'avventura editoriale della letteratura albanese in Italia: il caso di Ismail Kadare

The paper reconstructs the arduous journey made by Ismail Kadare's fiction from the early 1970s to the present day, focusing attention on various quest-ions that regard the translation of Kadare's work into over 40 languages. The analysis focuses in particular on the mediation of French in translations of his work and on Kadare's reception in Italy. In addition to providing a detailed account of the works translated so far, the author traces the possible path for future translations, highlighting the gaps in Italian versions of his works and the complexity of the latest authorial versions.
