W służbie jedności Kościoła. Ekumeniczny program pontyfikatu św. Jana Pawła II

Ekumeniczny program św. Jana Pawła II cechuje nie tylko wymiar horyzontalny, urzeczywistniający się w osobistych spotkaniach, w wymianie myśli i duchowych darów. Obejmuje także wymiar wertykalny, polegający „na wspólnym i wzajemnym uznaniu naszej kondycji jako ludzi, którzy zgrzeszyli”, co – według Jana Pawła II – otwiera „wewnętrzną przestrzeń, w której Chrystus jako źródło jedności Kościoła może skutecznie działać mocą swego Ducha – Parakleta” (UUS, nr 35). Nadając ekumenizmowi priorytetowy charakter w programie swojego posługiwania, Jan Paweł II zwraca szczególną uwagę na dwa elementy, które wzajemnie się warunkują. Są to: „pamięć i jej oczyszczanie oraz pojednanie”.

Milenijne dzieło pojednania podjęte przez prymasa Wyszyńskiego i Kościół rzymskokatolicki w Polsce znalazło swoją szczególną konkretyzację w Jasnogórskich Ślubach Narodu oraz w Wielkiej Nowennie przygotowującej naród do uroczystych obchodów Milenium chrztu Polski w 1966 roku. The purpose of this thesis is to examine the meaning of political reconciliation in Rwanda and the ways this is expressed. Thus, Rwandan Senators were interviewed to understand their interpretations of reconciliation in Rwanda. Furthermore, it seeks to understand the tools of reconciliation used in Rwanda and how Senators feel these contribute to the reconciliation process. She particularly discusses how these institutions deal with the challenges the idea of heritage faces in today’s Europe and the opportunities that these may present to respond to these challenges. The analysis shows how the EU and the Council of Europe seek to reconcile heritage-related conflicts by approaching heritage as a space for civil participation, interaction, intercultural dialogue, and conversation about divergent values and narrations of the past.
