A review of several origin myths relating to the creation of medieval Occitan lyric poetry. We see a preference for a “great man theory” of origins, though the “great man” may be a fictional woman. Medieval and early Renaissance Occitan authors, including Uc de Saint Circ, Guilhem Molinier, and Jean de Nostredame, used differing origin myths to validate literature in a language that was perceived not to carry the prestige of twelfth- and thirteenth-century Latin or fifteen- and sixteenth-century French.

The article intends to make a contribution of new documentary references, from the notarial funds of the Valencian archives, in which news about parish crosses and Lignum Crucis from the silversmith center of Valencia during the fourteenth and fifteenth centuries are collected. Terminología y traducción económica francés-español: evaluación de recursos terminológicos en el ámbito contable

The aim of this paper is to evaluate a series of terminology resources and determine their suitability to the practice of French-Spanish translation of accounting documents. First we identify the terminology needs of a specific group of translator trainees when facing business translation, as well as the resources they use particularly when translating annual accounts. Then, we select various terminology resources used in this context and evaluate them according to their needs. The results suggest the development of a French-Spanish dictionary of accounting terms adapted to the terminology needs of the practice of translation in this area.

This article analyses the impact of classical tradition on the artistic production of Gregorio Prieto (1897-1992), painter par excellence of the Generation of 1927. It will be discovered how this influence, far from becoming a conservative reference, would constitute an incentive for his entailment with the avant-garde, especially with surrealism. Although the classic trace is found with more intensity in the creations produced during his Roman years, between 1928 and 1929, when he also made important trips to Sicily and Greece, Greece and Rome would nevertheless continue to be constitutive of his aesthetic experience throughout his later and extensive career.

This study focuses, from a short story of the blood libel of Saint Dominguito de Val, on answering the questions of when and why the ?tradition? was made about this saint, and the specific moments of his Revitalization until the end of the 17th century. Although the short story of the death of this infant has been occupied by the most diverse writers of the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, we take as reference the master Espés and the chroniclers Blancas, Andrés de Uztarroz and Dormer.

In this contribution, the multiconfigurational second-order perturbation theory method based on a complete active space reference wave function (CASSCF/CASPT2) is applied to study all possible single and double proton/hydrogen transfers between the nucleobases in the adenine-thymine (AT) base pair, analyzing the role of excited states with different nature [localized (LE) and charge transfer (CT)], and considering concerted as well as step-wise mechanisms. Abstract. Only little is known about the underpinning psychological processes that determine medical choices. Across four studies, we establish that conspiracy mentality predicts a preference for alternative over biomedical therapies. Study 1a (N = 392) and 1b (N = 204) provide correlational support, Study 2 (N = 185) experimentally tested the role of power: People who endorsed a conspiracy mentality perceived a drug more positively if its approval was supported by a powerless (vs. powerful) agent. Study 3 (N = 239) again showed a moderating effect of power and conspiracy mentality on drug evaluation by comparing analytic versus holistic approaches. These findings point to the consequences…
