Apsūdzētā stāvokļa pasliktināšana apelācijas instances tiesā kriminālprocesā

2017

Taming of the Rake: From a Man about Town to a Man at Home in "The Tenant Of Wildfell Hall" by Anne Brontë

2015

In „The Tenant of Wildfell Hall” Anne Brontë considers one of the most burning questions of the Victorian period, i.e. the problem of male domestic violence. The novel contributed to the public debate on the defects of the legal system which discriminated against women and made them totally dependent on their fathers and husbands. However, the writer’s diagnosis of the social issue does not focus on the formal aspects only, as she believed that political action should be accompanied by a farreaching reconceptualisation of nineteenth-century models of femininity and masculinity. Brontë suggests that legal reform is not enough to eliminate such pathologies as marital abuse. She tries to disma…

New Materialist Explorations into Language Education

2023

This open access book analyzes language education through a socio-material framework. The authors revisit their position as researchers by decentering themselves and humans in general from the main focus of research activities and giving way to the materialities that are agentive but often overlooked parts of our research contexts and processes. Through this critical posthumanist realism, they are able to engage in research that sees society as an ethical interrelationship between humans and the material world and explore the socio-materialities of language education from the perspectives of material agency, spatial and embodied materiality, and human and non-human assemblages. Each chapter…

First, we describe the reform’s rationale, then the theoretical framework, methodology and the reform process. Next, we reflect on our experiences through documen tary and interview data. The change process included representative and participative democ racy approaches as well as an aristocratic approach. An in…

Ethnographic field notes and photographs of the schools were collected to provide contextual information about the settings.
