The mobility network of European tourists: a longitudinal study and a comparison with geo-located Twitter data

Purpose This paper aims to provide a network study of the structural and dynamical characteristics of tourism flows in Europe from 1995 to 2012. Design/methodology/approach Travels in Europe were studied by following the network science research paradigm and by focusing on the whole network of intra-European tourism destinations. Network analysis was used to map and reveal the pattern of connections between states as shaped by bilateral tourism flows. Application of geomarketing to coastal tourism areas

Geomarketing allows geographic units to be defined with a certain degree of homogeneity in terms of tourist preferences, behaviours, needs, expectations, buying and consumption patterns, and analogous attitudes. The result is a “territorial segmentation” of the demand in accordance with the geographic characteristics of tourism areas. A bibliometric analysis of international impact of business incubators

This study seeks to observe trends in literature on business incubators. The article presents a bibliometric analysis of 445 studies on business incubators. These works come from the Web of Science database for the period 1985–2015. The study sorts these articles according to the following bibliographic indicators: eminent authors, year of publication, countries with the highest rate of productivity, journal with most published research, language, type of research, and research area. Insights into international branch campuses: Mapping trends through a systematic review

Abstract This study analyzes international branch campus (IBC) literature trends from 1960 to 2017 through a systematic review of the different research approaches, views, and positions to map the global scientific production. Over the last two decades, universities worldwide have opened branch campuses abroad, reaching a peak of 249 across thirty-three countries in January 2017. In fact, international studies and surveys have identified a 26% increase over the last five years as well as a concentration of the industry. Research trends in retailing: a comparative approach Spain-Europe-USA

This paper describes the evolution of research in retailing comparing three different geographic regions: Spain, Europe and the United States. Working on the basis of a bibliographic review of the academic research published between 1996 and 2000 together with a content analysis, the results of this study reveal a heterogeneous evolution in nine thematic areas related to the field of retailing. The differences are particularly noticeable when comparing those of Europe with those of the USA, and reveal different areas of interest over the last five years.

Introduction Collaboration is one of the defining features of contemporary scientific research, and it is particularly important with regard to neglected diseases that primarily affect developing countries. Methods The present study has identified publications on leishmaniasis in the Medline database from 1945 to 2010, analyzing them according to bibliometric indicators and statistics from social network analysis.
