Learning a foreign language means being in contact with a new environment of sounds compared to that of the mother tongue. The foreign language teacher must help learners to access these sounds both from a perception and a production point of view. The verbo-tonal method of phonetic correction designed in the 1960s-1970s by Professor Petar Guberina (University of Zagreb) provides teachers with tools to correct learners’ pronunciation. Considering the justifications o f this choice and the different setting-up contexts, it focuses on the implications of a CBA on the financial system and the real economy. Se da un lato la rinnovata attenzione verso le problematiche legate ai cambiamenti climatici ha portato alla nascita di un processo dal basso che ha coinvolto milioni di giovani in tanti paesi, dall’altro l’adozione di misure estreme per bloccare i flussi migratori (sempre più, peraltro, causati nel mondo dagli stessi cambiamenti climatici), ha avviato in altrettanti paesi un processo inverso, che nega l’efficacia di un approccio globale, anzi, ne teme gli effetti.

In this paper, we examine instances of the methods pupils deploy to do language policy in an English as a foreign language classroom in Sweden, where there is a locally practised English-only rule. Although we exemplify some more tacit methods of constructing a monolingual classroom (Slotte-Lüttge 2007), we focus primarily on instances where pupils police other pupils and on occasion even the teacher, when they are perceived not to be upholding the rule.
