Akadēmisko darbu izstrāde vācu valodu kā svešvalodā ir ļoti liels izaicinājums interncionālajiem studentiem Vācijas universitātēs. Ārvalstu akadēmiskās rakstīšanas noteikumi, kultūras atšķirības, kā arī pieredzes trūkums akadēmiskajā rakstībā ārzemju studentiem Vācijā rada problēmas un tādēļ padodas grūtāk nekā vācu studentiem. Papildus tam, arī internacionālie studenti ar labām vācu valodas zināšanām turpina piedzīvot dažādas grūtības, gramatikas, leksikas un ortogrāfijas jomā. Autonomā vācu valodas apgūšana studentu vidū

Šis darbs ir veltīts vācu valodas patstāvīgas mācīšanās pētīšanai studentu vidū. Tas ir balstīts uz autores tiešo pieredzi Erasmus studiju apmaiņas programmas laikā, kad studentiem bija nepieciešams apgūt vācu valodu un komunicēt starpkultūru vidē. Rezultātā tika pētītas vācu valodes apguves iespējas un veidi studentu vidū, kā arī autonomija šajā procesā. Pētot bibliogrāfiju, tika konstatēts, ka ir ierobežots daudzums literatūras, kas īpaši koncentrējas uz vācu valodas apguvi studentu vidū Erasmus programmas kontekstā. What drives German foreign direct investment? New evidence using Bayesian statistical techniques

Abstract Despite the importance of Germany as an issuer of foreign direct investment (FDI), the studies analyzing its determinants are far from conclusive. This research contributes to filling this gap providing new evidence for the period 1996–2012. In order to reduce model uncertainty, we adopt a Bayesian model averaging (BMA) approach. We find that determinants associated with horizontal FDI appear to be dominant for explaining FDI in developed countries while for the group of developing countries covariates associated with vertical FDI motives play a larger role. Enjoyment is among the achievement emotions encountered in school and university settings. While often identified with a sense of belonging not necessarily connected with learning (Lumby, 2011), foreign language enjoyment (FLE) in SLA has been found to correlate with teachers’ professional and affective skills, and the existence of a supportive peer group. The risk involved with meeting the challenges of the SLA process induces both private and social feelings of FLE (Dewaele & MacIntyre, 2016). The European sovereign debt market: from integration to segmentation

This paper investigates the impact of European Monetary Union (EMU) and of the recent financial and fiscal crisis on the integration of the European sovereign debt market using annual data 1992–2010. The panel regression dependent variable is time-varying market linkages computed from daily realised correlations between sovereign bond returns for 13 European economies and Germany. The results indicate that the elimination of currency risk following the implementation of EMU led to a fundamental and significant one-off increase in integration. The Veblen-Gerschenkron Effect of FDI in Mezzogiorno and East Germany

The presence of foreign multinational enterprises (MNEs) can benefit local economies. In particular, if MNEs are very productive compared to domestic firms, they may promote learning and catch-up of local firms. Such a channel of spillovers from MNEs to local firms is known as the Veblen-Geschenkron effect. Rather than the overall density of MNEs in a region or sector, it is their initial productivity advantage on the local firm to determine the positive effect on domestic productivity growth. We test this hypothesis using firm level data for German and Italian companies during the 90's and we find evidence of a significant and robust Veblen-Gerschenkron effect.

Land grabbing is a phenomenon that has spread widely over the last two decades and which involves rich and emerging countries and international companies as protagonists in the large-scale acquisition of land in developing countries.
