Towards a fun and playful model for young children's foreign language learning

This thesis proposes a model for young children's foreign language learning with a focus on fun and playfulness as well as emotional needs. The model is based on a wide range of literature on children's development, education, and foreign language learning specifically. Foreign language teachers are surveyed to discover their current practices. This data is analysed and compared to the proposed model. The study finds many teachers already follow many of the principles of the proposed model in their everyday practice. Šabloniskās valodas lietojums lietišķajā komunikācijā palīdz ziņu padarīt īsāku un skaidrāku, kas ir svarīgi, lai panāktu veiksmīgas biznesa attiecības un sasniegtu komunikatīvos mērķus. Mērķis bija izpētīt, cik efektīvi būtu piemērot leksisko pieeju mācot vēstuļu rakstīšanu lietišķās angļu valodas kontekstā. Pielietotā pētniecības metode bija gadījuma izpēte. Datu iegušanas metodes bija aptaujas un testi. Pētījuma dalībnieki bija trīsdesmit pilna laika bakalaura līmeņa studenti, kas apguva programmu vienā no universitātēm Latvijā. Diplomdarbs „Literāro tekstu izmantošana vācu valodas kā svešvalodas stundās vidusskolā” ir veltīts skolēnu lasīšanas spēju attīstībai vācu valodas stundās, izmantojot literāros tekstus. Tēmas izvēle ir pamatota ar to, ka literatūras nelasīšana ir bieži sastopama parādība mūsdienu pusaudžu vidū. Tādēļ mūsdienu svešvalodu pedagogu mērķis ir ne tikai attīstīt bērna lasītprasmi, bet arī veicināt skolēnu interesi par lasīšanu. Šāda prakse atver skolēniem durvis uz citu kultūru, bagātina viņu valodu, veicina intelekta attīstību un parāda skaistumu, ko sniedz fantāziju pasaule. The relationship between credit ratings and asset liquidity: Evidence from Western European banks

This study examines the role of asset liquidity in Western European banks’ credit rating downgrades and upgrades over the 2005–2017 period. The results suggest that changes in bank credit ratings have been more favorable for banks that have a liquid asset portfolio. Furthermore, asset liquidity has a stronger effect on the credit rating of banks that already have an illiquid asset portfolio. In contrast, the effect is significantly smaller or nonexistent for the most liquid banks. These results imply that the new liquidity regulation introduced by the Basel III requirements will improve the stability and hence decrease the fragility of the European banking sector.
