The Third Memory: stati della finzione nell’arte di Pierre Huyghe

2013

This paper focuses on The Third Memory, a re-enactment of Dog Day Afternoon (Lumet, 1975) by French artist Pierre Huyghe. By starting with the theoretical perspective developed by Nicolas Bourriaud in Relational Aesthetics and Postproduction, the essay attempts to show how a relational reading of the re-enactment of Pierre Huyghe may represent a valid investigative tool to analyze the relationship between cinematic narrative structures and everyday life narrative structures, between fiction and reality, in the work of the French artist."and reality, in the work of the French artist.

The power of the gift: a perspective of political aesthetics

2019

According to Aristotle (Polit. 1253a) man is a “political animal” and his aim is to live in the community. Guided by this Aristotelian premise, I would like to dwell on the relevance of a relationship among individuals as the foundation of a civil society and the building of a political space. Following the Aristotelian perspective, the relationship among people acquires a political value in reference to the Greek word polis (city). Consequently, the adjective “political” indicates an idea wider than usually acknowledged and may refer to space, objects, and overall relationships among people. According to the natural model originally advocated by Aristotle, the urban space acquires a politi…

Art in the streets. Artification strategies for public space

2019

My essay focuses on the notion of artification, recently emerged in the philosophical and artistic debate. Some case studies show that “public wall paintings” work as an artifying strategy of public space both at a superficial and at a deep level. As regard to the first, a mere decorative effect is produced; while the second, by launching projects which require the coordination of several professional skills and social actors, produces a more radical transformation. The latter notion of artification is more significant than the former because it better expresses the educational value of art and its ability to produce improvement not only of urban areas – made aesthetically more enjoyable – …

Artificare lo spazio urbano. Lo sguardo “altro” di Danisinni

2019

Carceral Aesthetics. Art and Everyday Life in Prison

2021

The paper aims to focus on everyday life in prison following a double perspective, a historical and a contemporary one. First, the historical phenomenon of prison graffiti will be investigated in connection with one case study: the graffiti in the prisons of the Holy Office in Palermo. Subsequently, the effect of making art in today’s prisons both on space and on inmate life will be taken into account. The overall aim of this twofold reading is to show to what extent making art in prison can be seen as a strategy of activation of those relational and familiarizing processes which bestow an aesthetic value on everyday life.

Il dono e la festa. Strategie relazionali per un’estetica politica

2021

A tool to observe the phenomenology and aesthetics of primary relationships: the “dance steps” of reciprocity between caregivers and infant/child – P…

2023

This study addresses the complexity of caregiver-infant/child interactions from the theoretical frame of Gestalt psychotherapy and the field of application of Pediatric Psychology. Based on a previous empirical study on the process of reciprocity in caregiver-infant/child interactions (Spagnuolo Lobb, 2016), the authors have worked on the construction of an observational tool to look at the co-creation of meaningful experiences, switching the focus from the child to the “dance” of reciprocity between caregiver and infant/child. Considering the contextualization in the field of Pediatric Psychology, this pilot study aimed to test the tool’s application with caregiverpreterm infant dyads, but…

Il disturbo da gioco d'azzardo: la dipendenza patologica come patologia della relazione

2020

Gambling disorder is placed in DSM-5 among addictive disorders in the subsection of “non-substance-related disorders”, defining it as «persistent and recurrent problematic gambling behavior leading to clinically significant impairment or distress, in a 12-month period» (APA, 2013). The aim of this paper, through a review of the literature and a description of a clinical case, is to highlight the relational aspect of the GAP disorder by describing different forms of “relationship pathology” among its main effects. National and international literature highlights how the gambling represents a traumatic family experience, that involves all the systems of the player life with both human and soc…

RELATIONAL TOURISM : CHALLENGES AND CAPABILITIES

2017

The observed changes in the orientation of tourism demand in the last three decades have brought to the birth of new ways of interpreting the tourism phenomenon. Among these we highlight Relational Tourism, a phenomenon that can be perceived as human-scale tourism, clearly based on territorial, cultural and environmental constraints that include travel formats such as rural tourism, cultural tourism, farm tourism, environmental tourism, outdoor activity tourism and many new ways, which have shown an important quantitative growth of Relational Tourism demand in Europe and internationally in the last decades, offering an alternative and increasingly more appreciated tourism to the traditional…
