Love of Enemies in the Context of Antiquity

Do we find the principle of ‘loving one's enemies’ or precursors thereof in pre-Christian antiquity? In the Greco-Roman tradition we find as a common maxim ‘helping friends and harming enemies’ combined with the talio and the Golden Rule. Only Socrates and some Roman stoics recommend never to take revenge. In the OT Lev 19.18 may possibly be interpreted as a commandment of loving one's enemies. The first to have understood Lev 19.18 in this sense seems to be Jesus. Christians have too rarely lived up to his commandment.

Następnie przedstawiono reżim prawny w zakresie przetwarzania danych osobowych przez związki wyznaniowe w ramach prowadzonej przez nie działalności statutowej. Owing to a reassessment of the available sources on the sculptured decor of the façade of Saint-Pierre et Saint-Paul cathedral in Nantes, it is possible to bring some precisions about the original state of the building. The tympanum of the central portal of this façade did not present, as is usually acknowledged, an original openwork design which was filled up in the 17th century when the organ loft was erected. One from 7 Jewish religious commune in the Wieluń district during the Second Polish Republic was located in Praszka. It gathered about 1,000-1,500 followers of Judaism. Największa gmina wyznaniowa żydowska w powiecie wieluńskim w okresie II Rzeczypospolitej znajdowała się w Wieluniu. Skupiała ona około 5 tys. wyznawców judaizmu. Pracami kahału kierował zarząd gminy i rada gminy przy pomocy wielu pracowników, zajmujących się utrzymaniem m.in. synagogi, budynku gminy, łaźni i rzeźni rytualnej i szkół wyznaniowych. Wielkim autorytetem mieszkańców Wielunia cieszył się rabin, troszczący się o religijny rozwój społeczności żydowskiej i pomagający mu podrabin. Mimo ówczesnego kryzysu finansowego, gmina żydowska w Wieluniu prowadziła na dużą skalę działalność dobroczynną i społeczną, poprzez utrzymywanie i finansowanie licznych instytucji, w tym szkół wyznaniowych.

Este artículo analiza la evolución de la renta feudal de un señorío valenciano particularmente bien documentado, el marquesado de Llombai, posesión de los duques de Gandía, en un período muy extenso que va de 1486 a 1819. Se estudia la renta nominal (tanto bruta como la neta, es decir la cantidad que percibía efectivamente el señor) y la renta real o deflactada, que es la más interesante, ya que tiene en cuenta el efecto de la evolución de los precios.
