Background Epidermoid and dermoid cysts in the oral cavity are relatively uncommon lesions of developmental origin. They often remain asymptomatic for years until they grow enough to interfere with speech, deglutition and less often with breathing which can pose a critical risk to the airway and require immediate surgery. Fitz Hugh Curtis syndrome, also known as acute perihepatitis, associates pelvic inflammatory disease with the presence of Chlamydia trachomatis or Neisseria gonorrhoeae as the main causative pathogens.
 Symptomatology is a nonspecific one. Right upper quadrant pain, fever, nausea and vomiting are the most commonly encountered symptoms.

Destruction of the osteocartilaginous framework of the nose and sinuses is a well-known side effect of inhaled cocaine. Palate involvement is, however, a very uncommon event that may lead to oronasal communication with the subsequent food and liquids reflux and nasal speech.
