Oligothiophene monomers with a fixed length varying from 3 to 5 thiophene rings were prepared by Stille coupling. They were functionalised with one or two methacrylate groups to allow polymerization and cross-linking. These monomers can be patterned with the help of soft silicon stamps (e.g., with the micro-injection moulding in capillaries process) on substrates like glass or flexible polymer foils. If a photoinitiator has been added, they can then be hardened by exposure to UV-light through the transparent stamp. Afterwards the stamp can be removed. Background: The embryonic root groove is an anatomical abnormality that starts in the cingulum and extends longitudinally down the long axis root towards the apex. This developmental anomaly is more frequently reported in maxillary lateral incisors. Gu YC in 2011 established three types of radicular grooves depending on its severity. According to this classification, type III presents a greater diagnostic and therapeutic complexity. The prevalence of palatogingival grooves in maxillary lateral incisors ranges from 1.9 to 14%. Mitochondria, responsible for the energy-generating process essential for the cell metabolism, differ for the number, localization and activity in animal cells and tissues in relation to the energetic needs. Using fluorescent probes specific for mitochondria, Mitotracker Green (MTG) and Orange (MTO), and Confocal Laser-Scanning Microscope (CLSM), we elaborated a method to measure in vivo the mitochondrial mass and activity, in sea urchin Paracentrotus lividus eggs and embryos. The analysis of captured images, revealed a variation of mitochondrial distribution and an increase of activity after fertilization.

The vertebrate AHR then evolved to take on functions of detecting and responding to certain classes of environmental toxicants.
