SU-E-T-218: Octavius 4D: Commissioning and Clinical Implementation of a New Device for VMAT Verifications

Purpose: To commission a new device for pre‐treatment patient specific verification of VMAT plans, which is capable of reconstructing 3D dose with high resolution. Methods: Octavius 4D system (PTW) consists of an ion chamber array embedded in a cylindrical phantom which, assisted by an inclinometer, rotates synchronously with the gantry. For VMAT plans, it measures planar dose distributions as a function of gantry angle in order to compute the resulting 3D dose distribution. There are two options for the ion chamber array: Octavius 729 (general purpose) and Octavius 1000 SRS (small field size, high resolution). Abstract X-ray spectra and dosimetry information are very important for quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC) in medical diagnostic X-ray systems. An accurate knowledge of the diagnostic X-ray spectra would improve the patient dose optimization, without compromising image information. In this work, we performed direct diagnostic X-ray spectra measurements with a portable device, based on a CdTe solid-state detector. Repeatability of whole-cornea measurements using a new swept-source optical coherence tomographer

Purpose: The aim of this study was to evaluate the repeatability of several corneal parameters provided by a high-resolution swept-source optical coherence tomographer (SS-OCT). Methods: One eye from each of 74 patients was measured five times consequently using the ANTERION SS-OCT. On the zopiclone enantioselective binding to human albumin and plasma proteins. An electrokinetic chromatography approach

In this work, a methodology for the chiral separation of zopiclone (ZPC) by electrokinetic chromatography (EKC) using carboxymethylated-β-cyclodextrin as chiral selector has been developed and applied to the evaluation of the enantioselective binding of ZPC enantiomers to HSA and total plasma proteins. Two mathematical approaches were used to estimate protein binding (PB), affinity constants (K(1)) and enantioselectivity (ES) for both enantiomers of ZPC. Superresolved imaging of remote moving targets.

We present a superresolving approach that allows one to exceed the diffraction limit and recover highly resolved contours of moving targets from a sequence of low-resolution images. The presented approach is suitable for remote sensing applications. The resolution decoding algorithm that is used to recover the high-resolution features of the target can be run partially via optical means and that way can be used to reduce the required computational complexity.

Optical Characterization Method for Tilted or Decentered Intraocular Lenses

Purpose To test and validate a method for measuring the optical quality and optical power of monofocal intraocular lenses (IOLs) in the presence of a tilt or a decentration as well as its optical power. Methods The experimental system consists of an artificial eye (wet-cell) and a commercial aberrometer with a Shack-Hartmann sensor. Contribution of Taq polymerase-induced errors to the estimation of RNA virus diversity.

The genetic diversity of a vesicular stomatitis virus population was analysed by RT-PCR, cloning and sequencing of two approximately 500 nucleotide regions of the virus genome. PCR amplifications were performed in parallel experiments with both Taq and Pfu DNA polymerases, and important differences were observed. Between 10 and 22 mutations were detected when virus populations were analysed by Taq amplification (20 clones from each region), whereas amplification of the same samples with Pfu revealed between 0 and 5 mutations. Background To evaluate the quality of oral cancer information in Brazilian Portuguese on Google, YouTube, and Instagram. Material and Methods The first 100 links of each platform characterized the initial sample. The websites and Instagram were evaluated using the JAMA benchmarks, the Discern instrument, and the Flesch readability index (Flesch Reading Ease).
