Guanxi, trust and reward-based crowdfunding success: a Chinese case

Purpose This paper aims to examine different hypotheses concerning the effects of guanxi on the reward-based crowdfunding project fundraising. Specifically, this study provides new insights into how guanxi and guanxi intensity may affect reward-based crowdfunding success and project performance in the Chinese context. The sharing of research data in the cell & Tissue engineering area: Is it a common practice?

The availability of research data sets is an important milestone because it can enhance the dynamics of research. This study aims to analyze the PubMed Central repository to determine the availability and type of raw data sets in Cell & Tissue Engineering journals indexed in Journal Citation Reports. The number and types of files were registered. The main finding of this study is that, beyond the mandatory deposit of data in specific repositories that some journals require, the exchange of data as supplementary material in the Cell & Tissue Engineering journals is not a common practice since researchers are still reticent to do so.

[EN] Sharing research data is an increasingly necessary requirement for the advancement of science. The aim of this study was to analyse the policies on openness in sharing scientific research data in substance abuse journals. Journals included in the Substance abuse area of the Journal Citation Reports were used for the analysis, with reference to the instructions to authors published on the journals websites. In 67.6% of the journals, it is possible to store materials in thematic or institutional repositories; 47% accept supplemental material; 64.7% allow the reuse of data, and 41.2% admit the publication of their data on a website. To associate research data to the published results favors their reuse by the scientific community, but this does not afford sufficient guarantees of preservation. To store them in databases solves this contingency and provides visibility, but in Spain there are not many services of this kind. For this reason, we describe, evaluate and discuss the pros and cons of foreign multidisciplinary data repositories that can be useful for researchers and information managers: Dryad, Figshare, Zenodo and Dataverse. It is still early to choose optimally and definitively one or the other application, so we conclude with recommendations to guide the user community and intermediaries.
