Diversity management and intercultural communication experiences in multicultural organisations in South Ostrobothnia

Tämän kvalitatiivisen tutkimuksen tarkoituksena on selvittää millaisia kokemuksia eteläpohjalaisilla johtajilla on monimuotoisuuden johtamisesta ja kulttuurienvälisestä viestinnästä monikulttuurisissa organisaatioissa. The Role of Municipalities in Promoting Well-Being

The aim of the paper is to research different approaches to researching and promoting the well-being in municipalities. To achieve the aim, such qualitative and quantitative methods of research as comparing, grouping, graphical analysis, focus group methods will be used. The main results and findings of the paper are: the role of municipalities in promoting well-being is increasing contrary to the role of national or regional authorities, due to the autonomous functions of local authorities, intensive informative links and a wide range of available economic and social instruments.

Multi-criteria methods may help researchers to solve empirical problems in the construction of composite sustainability indicators and in ranking agricultural technologies according to their sustainability. Effects of responsible human resource management practices on female employees’ turnover intentions

This study focuses on the effects of socially responsible human resource management (SR-HRM) practices on female employees’ turnover intentions and the moderating effect of supervisor gender on this relationship. With a sample of 212 female employees from eight different industries in Finland, the results indicate that SR-HRM practices promoting equal career opportunities and work–family integration play a significant role in reducing women's turnover intentions. The study adds to the academic discourse of corporate social responsibility by highlighting the impact of the organizational-level HRM determinants on the individual-level outcome. Enterprising refugee women: Analyzing postfeminist governmentality in an organizational context

This study examines a model project initiated by a German Federal Ministry in the middle of the vast increase in forced migration to Germany after 2015. The project aimed at facilitating the integration of female refugees into German society by way of ‘empowering’ them to become self-employed. A business counseling agency with a feminist orientation was commissioned to design and run the project. Explanations of success and failure in management learning : What can we learn from Nokia's rise and fall

International audience; In this paper, we study the changing explanations of success and failure over the course of a firm's history. We build on a discursive approach that highlights the role of narrative attributions in making sense of corporate performance. Specifically, we analyze how the Nokia Corporation was framed first as a success and later as a failure and how these dimensions of performance were explained in various actors' narrative accounts. The aim of this article is to introduce an ecosystemic approach to mentoring, inspired by the theory of ecologies of practices (Kemmis, Edwards-Groves, Wilkinson, & Hardy, 2012). Peer interaction and pioneering organizational form adoption : A tale of the first two for-profit stock exchanges

2021

Building on a historical case study on the first two stock exchanges to adopt the now globally dominant for-profit organizational form, the Stockholm Stock Exchange in 1993 and the Helsinki Stock Exchange in 1995, we argue that interaction among socially proximate peers contributes to pioneering organizational form adoption within an industry, particularly when such forms are introduced by established organizations. Peer interaction can induce a search for technically efficient organizational forms through the sharing of collective experiences, the establishment of collective assumptions, and a joint search for solutions.
