In its past, IS research has focused on IT and the organizations that use IT. Human issues have been studied in HCI and the Human Factor Studies of MIS. Yet recently a new wave of attention has emerged to focus more explicitly on issues rising from the human context of information systems. Studies in this area are still scattered, but there seems to exist a common paradigmatic orientation in their basic assumptions of human beings and their interaction. ResumenLa evidencia previa nacional e internacional muestra la infravaloración de las empresas que salen a bolsa a través de una Oferta Pública Inicial (OPI). Este trabajo tiene como objetivo estudiar si este fenómeno también se da en las empresas de carácter familiar y si existen diferencias significativas en la infravaloración respecto de las empresas no familiares. The aim of this paper is to evaluate the effect of receive diversity on multimedia broadcast multicast service (MBMS) performance in wideband code division multiple access (WCDMA) networks. In addition to time diversity provided by long interleaving and receive diversity provided by multiple receive antennas, 3GPP release 6 specifications for MBMS introduce two macro diversity schemes: soft and selective combining. The evolution of the euro-atlantic pluralistic security community: Impact and perspectives of the presence of American bases in Italy

The article analyses changes in the American global defense posture and the Italian exception to the current trend. It is argued that the changes in Italy cannot be fully understood unless they are analyzed in light both of the changes in the global strategies of the current leader, and of the regional framework in which those strategies are applied. The article proposes an evolutionary interpretation of the development of the American basing network and places the new American basing strategy in Italy within the context of the Euro-Atlantic pluralistic security community, which significantly influences the application and perception of that strategy.
The EU’s Role in International Climate Change Policy-Making: A Global Leader in Decline?

This chapter assesses the European Union’s (EU) role in international climate change policy-making by comparing the EU’s degree of goal attainment at the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) Conference of the Parties (COP) negotiations in Copenhagen in 2009 and Cancun in 2010. By making use of three analytical factors (coherence, the opportunity structure and politicisation) we assess the outcomes of both negotiations for the EU. The Durban negotiations of 2011 are touched upon in the conclusions.
