Abstract The growing interest in disordered relaxor ferroelectrics is due to unusual properties mainly related to the existence of broad phase transitions characteristic to the systems. The effects of bias field on the dielectric response and polarisation switching are studied in the 0.5 PbNi 1/3 Nb 2/3 O 3 – x PbTiO 3 –(0.5− x ) PbZrO 3 system at different PbTiO 3 :PbZrO 3 ratio. Abstract A small amount of manganese introduced in BaTiO3 modifies strongly the vibrational and electronic properties of the pure compound. Dielectric response and EPR measurements are reported in order to study the influence of the manganese valency on the ferroelectric-paraelectric phase transition.
Polar nanodomains and local ferroelectric phenomena in relaxor lead lanthanum zirconate titanate ceramics

Transparent Pb0.9125La0.0975(Zr0.65Ti0.35)0.976O3 ceramics (conventionally abbreviated as PLZT 9.75/65/35) is a typical relaxor characterized by the absence of the ferroelectric order at the macroscopic scale. In this letter, we report on the observation of complex polar structures on the surface of this material via piezoresponse force microscopy (PFM). The irregular polarization patterns are associated with the formation of a glassy state, where random electric fields destroy the long-range ferroelectric order. Kinetics of dielectric response in SBN-75 ceramics at infra-low frequencies under illumination

A study of the photo-dielectric effect in ferroelectric SBN-75 ceramics of a broad phase transition under light of small intensity is reported. Relations determining kinetics of the infra-low frequency dielectric response under light and after illumination are obtained from experimental measurements revealing the features of the behaviour of relaxation time constants of the dielectric polarisation with temperature.
Dielectric Response in (K0.5Na0.5) (Nb1-xSbx)O3+0.5 mol%MnO2Ceramics to Weak Sinusoidal Fields of Low and Infra-low Frequencies

The thermal anomalies exhibited as “shoulders” at infra-low frequencies and maximums at low frequencies related to structural transitions in the polar phase of (K0.5Na0.5)(Nb1-xSbx)O3+0.5 mol%MnO2 are found to shift from T ∼ 185°C to T ∼ 140°C at changing concentration x from 0 to 0.05. The range of temperature ΔТ(х) corresponding to the difference between positions of the anomalies on the ϵ′(T) curve at frequencies 1000 Hz and 1 Hz changes from 0.5 degrees at x = 0 to 2.5 degrees at x = 0.05, which may point to relaxor properties of the given phase transition being present only at rather high concentrations of Sb.
Distance Learning during the COVID-19 Pandemic: Resources, Obstacles, and Emotional Implications for Italian Students in Higher Education

The study examined how 807 undergraduate Italian students coped with synchronous, asynchronous, and blended learning environments during the COVID-19 pandemic. Strengths and weaknesses of online learning were collected via an electronic platform (SurveyMonkey) and then categorized by grounded theory analysis using ATLAS.ti 8.0 software. The results showed technical, practical, relational, organizational, and transformative features of online learning emerged, differentiated in synchronous, asynchronous, and blended modes. AbstractA study of the effects of white light on photocurrent kinetics and the low and infra-low frequency relaxation of polarization in the barium-strontium niobate SBN‑75 ceramics is reported. It is found that at a low intensity illumination in the range of the relaxor phase the space charge is mainly responsible for manifestation of photo-electrical properties of SBN-75 ceramics.

Sensitivity of alanine dosimeters with gadolinium exposed to 6 MV photons at clinical doses.

In this study we analyzed the ESR signal of alanine dosimeters with gadolinium exposed to 6 MV linear accelerator photons. We observed that the addition of gadolinium brings about an improvement in the sensitivity to photons because of its high atomic number. The experimental data indicated that the addition of gadolinium increases the sensitivity of the alanine to 6 MV photons. This enhancement was better observed at high gadolinium concentrations for which the tissue equivalence is heavily reduced.
