As far as human resource management practices (HRM) are concerned, how do French companies respond to corporate social responsibility (CSR)? Are they eager to develop practices beyond the existing legal rules? To answer these questions, we present the results of an inquiry involving 106 HR managers who mainly belong to large manufacturing companies. Their statements, collected by questionnaire, are focused on a few "responsible" HRM practices: - Recruiting practices in favour of disabled or non skilled persons - Training practices promoting the access or the return to work - Communication practices encouraging the dialog between the managers and the employees. Ex-ante and ex-post measurement of equality of opportunity in health: a normative decomposition.

This paper proposes and discusses two different approaches to the definition of inequality in health: the ex-ante and the ex-post approach. It proposes strategies for measuring inequality of opportunity in health based on the path-independent Atkinson equality index. The proposed methodology is illustrated using data from the British Household Panel Survey; the results suggest that in the period 2000–2005, at least one-third of the observed health equalities in the UK were equalities of opportunity.

This essay will examine legislations on benefit corporations across Europe and the US, through a focus on whether or not elections by a corporation – or any other entity – to become a social purpose corporation or to cease to be one entail the arising of a right to withdraw on dissenting shareholders. Starting with the analysis of the legal framework, which applies to operations such as conversions from a for-profit corporation to a benefit corporation or the other way around, the essay will investigate their effects on the right to withdraw of dissenting shareholders both on unincorporated business entities and on corporations.

International audience; The disclosure of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) by Canadian firms is not mandatory. This provides an ideal context to describe the nature of what is being freely disclosed by large firms and to study the firms’ characteristics which lead to such disclosure. We searched all TSX listed firms to find those which disclose a CSR report accompanied by a letter from the CEO.
