Patterns in helminth community structure can suggest that various processes are acting to shape parasite communities into organised, non-random assemblages of species. Abstract Powder samples of the intermediate phase between sodalite and cancrinite (INT) have been synthesized hydrothermally. The formation of the INT phase was proved by both PXRD and TGA analysis and its stoichiometric composition was found to be |Na6.95(1)(CO3)0.48(2) (H2O)6.18(6)|[AlSiO4]6. The comparison of the intensity ratios of PXRD data with a SCXRD measurement indicates the formation of a comparable phase with the typical strong stacking disorder. The hexagonal lattice parameters with a=1266.3(2) pm and c=1586(1) pm and the unit cell setting were determined by Pawley fits. Intussusceptive angiogenesis is a process that forms new blood vessels by the intraluminal division of a single blood vessel into two lumens. Referred to as nonsprouting or intussusceptive angiogenesis, this angiogenic process has been described in morphogenesis and chronic inflammation. Mechanical forces are relevant to the structural changes associated with intussusceptive angiogenesis because of the growing evidence that physiologic forces influence gene transcription. Use of kinetic DTA and TG methods for compatibility tests on 2,4,6--trinitrotoluene

We have investigated the suitability of thermoanalytical methods for compatibility tests on explosives and contact materials. DTA and TG curves of various materials were evaluated using two DTA and four TG methods and one DSC method. TNT was used as model substance. The contact materials were paraffin, polyethylene, an epoxy resin paint and an epoxy glue. In earlier tests the first two were found compatible and the latter two incompatible with TNT. None of the methods provides an absolute value for the activation energy. However, in compatibility tests only the relative change in the activation energy is of interest and, for this, three of the methods proved informative.
Template-free synthesis and structural evolution of discrete hydroxycancrinite zeolite nanorods from high-concentration hydrogels.

We report the synthesis and characterization of hydroxycancrinite zeolite nanorods by a simple hydrothermal treatment of aluminosilicate hydrogels at high concentrations of precursors without the use of structure-directing agents. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) analysis reveals that cancrinite nanorods, with lengths of 200-800 nm and diameters of 30-50 nm, exhibit a hexagonal morphology and are elongated along the crystallographic c direction. The presence of muscarinic receptors (MR) in the ovary of different species has been recognized, but the identity of these receptors as well as ovarian sources of their natural ligand, acetylcholine (ACh), have not been determined. Because luteinized human granulosa cells (GC) in culture express functional MR, we have determined whether the group of the related MR subtypes, M1R, M3R, and M5R, are present in vivo in human and rhesus monkey ovaries. ABSTRACT We report the results of a study of the prevalences of three clinically relevant Borrelia burgdorferi sensu lato genospecies ( Borrelia burgdorferi sensu stricto, Borrelia afzelii , and Borrelia garinii ) in 1,040 questing Ixodes ticks from all regions of Latvia, where Lyme borreliosis is endemic. The prevalences of Borrelia in Ixodes ricinus and Ixodes persulcatus were 22.6 and 27.9%, respectively.
