Literacy Skill Development of Children With Familial Risk for Dyslexia Through Grades 2, 3, and 8

This study followed the development of reading speed, reading accuracy, and spelling in transparent Finnish orthography through Grades 2, 3, and 8. We compared two groups of children with familial risk for dyslexia, with or without dyslexia in Grade 2 (Dys_FR, n = 35 and NoDys_FR, n = 66) to a group of children without familial risk and dyslexia (Controls, n = 72). The Dys_FR group showed persisting deficiency especially in reading speed, and, to a minor extent, in reading and spelling accuracy. Good movement control is essential in team sports that require fast-paced running, pivoting, jumping and landing. Alterations in dynamic neuromuscular control may cause significant stress on the musculoskeletal system, and increase the risk of both acute and overuse injuries. Hypothesis: Previous acute knee injury and lower perceived knee function measured by Knee injury and Osteoarthritis Outcome Score (KOOS) will increase the risk of acute knee injury in youth team-sports athletes. Maģistra darbā ir aplūkotas dažas jaunas kombinatoriskās ģeometrijas spēles, kurās piedalās divi spēlētāji. Spēlētāji secīgi viens pēc otra izvēlas pa vienai figūrai no dotā figūru komplekta. Uzvar tas spēlētājs, kurš atvēlētajā laikā pirmais saliek prasītā tipa figūras. Analizētas četras spēles, kurās tiek sadalīts pentamino komplekts un tiek veidotas divas simetriskas vai divas vienādas figūras – 15-mino. Pierādīts, ka trijās spēlēs 1. spēlētājam eksistē uzvaroša (vismaz nezaudējoša) stratēģija. Noskaidrots, ka ceturtajā spēlē, kad jāveido simetriski dvīņi, uzvarošas stratēģijas nav nevienam no spēlētājiem.

Aims. Radiation exposure is a limiting factor for percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI) of chronic total coronary occlusion (CTO) lesions. This study was designed to analyze changes in patient radiation dose for CTO-PCI and parameters associated with radiation dose. Methods and Results. We analyzed a cohort of 12,136 procedures performed by 23 operators between 2012 and 2017 from the European Registry of CTO-PCI. Radiation exposure was recorded as air kerma (AK) and dose area product (DAP). A dose rate index (DRI) was calculated as AK per fluoroscopy time to normalize for individual differences in fluoroscopy time. This paper examines the restructuring of the Spanish financial system. This study is justified by the massive economic and social impact of this process in Spain. Based on the annual accounts and the annual reports of Spanish credit institutions, a model was created to predict the possibility of bank failure or bailout. The variables were selected following a review of the literature. They included the legal form of the credit institution (savings bank versus bank), leverage, real estate investment, gross operating margin, staff costs and non-performing loans.
