In recent years HR-MAS 1H NMR spectroscopy has proven to be a useful tool for the rapid determination of the metabolic profile of several solid and semisolid foods, such as fruits and vegetables, cheese and meat. Olive leaves are today recognized as direct sources of bioactive compounds and natural antioxidants (flavonoids, secoiridoids) suitable as food additives, and their extracts form the basis of beauty care products and pharmaceutical supplements. Gas chromatography/mass spectrometry characterization of historical varnishes of ancient Italian lutes and violin

The organic constituents of historical vanishes from two ancient Italian lutes and a Stradivari violin, kept in the Musée de la musique in Paris, have been characterized using gas chromatography-mass spectrometry. Results have been compared with the chromatograms and mass spectra of recent as well as old naturally aged reference materials. The three historical varnishes analyzed have been shown to be oil varnishes, probably mixtures of linseed oil with resins. Identification of diterpenoids and triterpenoids compounds, and of the resins that may have been ingredients of the varnishes, are discussed in this paper.

Tämän tutkimuksen tavoitteena oli syventää ymmärrystä terapian kannalta merkittävistä keskustelun hetkistä, jotka Haapanen ja Niemi (2016) ovat määrittäneet Pro gradu -tutkielmassaan. Tämä tehtiin tarkastelemalla, ovatko näiden hetkien aikana ilmenevät lyhyemmät autonomisen hermoston synkronian hetket sijoitettavissa empatian prosessimallin ensimmäiseen vaiheeseen. A small outcrop of mafic rocks, located between the Permian-Triassic sediments of the Cenozoic tectonic unit of the Maghrebian chain in Western Sicily, is an olistolith made up of olivine gabbronorite within diabase. Textures, microprobe analyses, and major and trace element geochemistry confirm the co-genetic nature of the various rocks: the gabbronorite is the result of olivine and orthopyroxene accumulation, with interstitial clinopyroxene and plagioclase, in a framework of a gabbrodioritic diabase. We examine the Talmudic three wives problem, which is a generalization of the Talmudic contested garment problem solved by Aumann and Maschler (1985) using coalitional procedure. This problem has many practical applications. In an attempt to unify all Talmudic methods, Guiasu (2010, 2011) asserts that it can be explained in terms of “run-to-the-bank”, that is, of Shapley value in a “cumulative game”. It can be challenged because the coalitional procedure yields the same result as the nucleolus, which corresponds to a “dual game”.
