What are the risk and protective factors for the well-being of adolescents with CF?

2021

Multimodal and multicriteria analysis for VLSI expertises and defects localization

2017

The purpose of this manuscript is to exhibit the research work solving the issue of data processing stem from defect localization techniques. This step being decisive in the failure analysis process, scientists have to harness data coming from light emission and laser techniques. Nevertheless, this analysis process is sequential and only depends on the expert’s decision. This factor leads to a not quantified probability of localization. Consequently to solve these issues, a multimodal and multicriteria analysis has been developped, taking advantage of the heterogeneous andcomplementary nature of light emission and laser probing techniques. This kind of process is based on advanced level too…

Homeopātisko preparātu aprite homeopātiskajā aptiekā

2016

Saaukstēšanās gadījumiem paredzēto homeopātisko zāļu aprite SIA "A Apotheka"-78" 2015.-2016. gadā

2017

Use of functional genes to quantify denitrifiers in the environment.

2006

During the last decade, application of molecular methods using cultivation-independent approaches has provided new insights into the composition and structure of denitrifying communities in various environments. However, little is known about their abundance, and quantification is still performed using cultivation-based approaches, which are not only biased by the inability to cultivate of many micro-organisms but also fastidious and time-consuming. Two types of cultivation-independent approaches have recently been developed to quantify denitrifiers. The first type, which is based on the hybridization technique, comprises the use of Southern hybridization and DNA arrays. The second type, ba…

A bridge over troubled water? Celebrities in journalism connecting implicit and institutional politics

2013

This article looks empirically into how audience members evaluate celebrities in journalism; whether and how celebrities help them to envisage their relationship to politics and media and consequently regard themselves as citizens. The analysis generates a broad and audience-based understanding of celebrities in nine focus group discussions, wherein more than 50 citizens in Finland discussed their favourite celebrities. The discussions revealed three interpretative frames explaining what the celebrities represent to the participants: normative, critical and alternative. In the first two, the groups impose a critical view on celebrities, whereas only the latter one comes close to the optimi…

Enhancing genre-based measures of music preference by user-defined liking and social tags

2012

Musical preferences are typically determined by asking participants to indicate their favourite musical genres. These genre-based measures have some considerable pitfalls, since specific pieces of music in a genre might be liked more than the genre itself, and finding consensus to define a genre is often a challenging task. The aims of the present study were to (1) assess how effective genre-based measures are at identifying musical preferences, by comparing them to free responses; (2) demonstrate how the fit can be improved between the genre-based measures and sampled population; and (3) suggest and evaluate methods that use lists of liked and disliked artists to define musical preference…

Roots of an Archean volcanic arc complex: the Lac des Iles area in Ontario, Canada

1997

Abstract The Lac des Iles area is located in the Wabigoon Subprovince, an Archean granite-greenstone terrain in the Superior Province in Ontario, Canada. The area consists of several unmetamorphosed plutons of biotite- and hornblende-tonalite and mafic and ultramafic intrusions which are emplaced into an older tonalitic gneiss. The mafic/ultramafic bodies are concentric in shape and consist of periodotite, pyroxenite, gabbro and hornblende gabbro cumulates and diorite. The largest intrusion, the Lac des Iles complex, consists of several mafic and ultramafic centers. An internal SmNd isochron from the southern ultramafic complex gives an intrusion age of 2736 ± 28 Ma (MSWD = 1.5; ϵNd(t) = 1…

Volatiles and trace elements content in melt inclusions from the zoned Green Tuff ignimbrite (Pantelleria, Sicily): petrological inferences

2018

International audience; The island of Pantelleria is one of the best known localities of bimodal mafic-felsic magmatism (alkali basalt and trachyte-pantellerite). Among the felsic rocks, the coexistence in a single eruption of products of both trachyte and pantellerite compositions is limited to few occurrences, the Green Tuff (GT) ignimbrite being one of these. The GT is compositionally zoned from pantellerite (70.1 wt% SiO2, mol Na+K/Al = 1.86, 1871 ppm Zr) at the base to crystal-rich (>30 vol%) comenditic trachyte (63.4 wt% SiO2, mol Na+K/Al = 1.10, 265 ppm Zr) at the top, although the pantellertic compositions dominate the erupted volume. We present here new data on melt inclusions (MIs…

High field magnetization of the colloidal Mn–Zn ferrite

1999

Abstract The magnetic properties of a hydrocarbon based colloid (stabilized by oleic acid) of polydisperse chemically co-precipitated Mn 0.5 Zn 0.5 Fe 2 O 4 particles are discussed in the paper. Two fractions are separated from an initial ferrofluid sample by centrifugation. X-ray diffraction measurements show the crystal structure of the particles and a broadened shape of the diffraction lines. Mean particle diameters 6.2 nm (the light fraction) and 9.7 nm (the heavy one) were determined by TEM measurements. The magnetization of the colloids is measured by VSM up to 12 T. A significant slope in the magnetization curves in the high field region is displayed for both samples in the temperatu…
