Sleepiness at the wheel (SW) is recognized as an important factor contributing to road traffic accidents, since up to 30 percent of fatal accidents have been attributed to SW. Sleepiness-related motor vehicle accidents may occur both from falling asleep while driving and from behavior impairment attributable to sleepiness. SW can be caused by various sleep disorders but also by behavioral factors such as sleep deprivation, shift work and non-restorative sleep, as well as chronic disease or the treatment with drugs that negatively affect the level of vigilance. Pełnią one w środowisku ważne funkcje gospodarcze, przyrodnicze, rekreacyjne, poprawiają bilans wodny i przyczyniają się do ochrony przeciwpowodziowej. Budując zbiornik wodny, oprócz zagadnień hydrologicznych związanych z ilością wody, należy wziąć pod uwagę jakość wody, która będzie retencjonowana w zbiorniku, jego zamulenie oraz szereg innych aspektów. Recent large influxes of non‐native Pacific pink salmon (Oncorhynchus gorbuscha) to North European rivers have raised concern over their potential negative impacts on native salmonids and recipient ecosystems. The eggs and carcasses of semelparous pink salmon may provide a significant nutrient and energy subsidy to native biota, but this phenomenon has not been widely documented outside the species' native distribution. The measurement of the river discharge within a natural ort artificial channel is still one of the most challenging tasks for hydrologists and the scientific community. Although discharge is a physical quantity that theoretically can be measured with very high accuracy, since the volume of water flows in a well-defined domain, there are numerous critical issues in obtaining a reliable value. Discharge cannot be measured directly, so its value is obtained by coupling a measurement of a quantity related to the volume of flowing water and the area of a channel cross-section. Tämän pro gradu -tutkielman tavoitteena on selvittää Kaitforsin patoalueelle toteutetun pohjavesien monitorointiin Kokkolan yliopistokeskus Chydeniuksessa kehitetyn pilottijärjestelmän näkökulmasta, millaisin menetelmin vedenkorkeuksien ja veden laadun monitorointia voidaan IoT:n ja langattomien sensoriverkkojen asettamista lähtökohdista automatisoidusti suorittaa. The monograph investigates the breakdown of the Uruk world-system towards the end of the 4th millennium BCE, and the roots of secondary state formation in the Middle Euphrates region through the analysis of continuity and change in the Early Bronze ceramic material from the site of Tell el-‘Abd (Tabqa Dam, Syria). This analysis fills a chronological gap for the early third millennium, a period poorly known in the district downstream from Carchemish.
