Ancestral processes in population genetics-the coalescent.

A special stochastic process, called the coalescent, is of fundamental interest in population genetics. For a large class of population models this process is the appropriate tool to analyse the ancestral structure of a sample of n individuals or genes, if the total number of individuals in the population is sufficiently large. A corresponding convergence theorem was first proved by Kingman in 1982 for the Wright-Fisher model and the Moran model. Abstract The aim of this report is to investigate an adaptive synchronization (AS) for the general class of complex hyperchaotic models with unknown parameters and a new algorithm to achieve this type of synchronization is proposed. Multivariate nonparametric statistical tests of hypotheses are described for the one-sample location problem, the several-sample location problem and the problem of testing independence between pairs of vectors. These methods are based on affine-invariant spatial sign and spatial rank vectors. They provide affine-invariant multivariate generalizations of the univariate sign test, signed-rank test, Wilcoxon rank sum test, Kruskal–Wallis test, and the Kendall and Spearman correlation tests. A stochastic method for robustness analysis in sorting problems

ELECTRE TRI is a multiple criteria decision aiding sorting method with a history of successful real-life applications. In ELECTRE TRI, values for certain parameters have to be provided. We propose a new method, SMAA-TRI, that is based on stochastic multicriteria acceptability analysis (SMAA), for analyzing the stability of such parameters. The stability analysis can be used for deriving robust conclusions. SMAA-TRI allows ELECTRE TRI to be used with uncertain, arbitrarily distributed values for weights, the lambda cutting level, and profiles. Robust three-dimensional best-path phase-unwrapping algorithm that avoids singularity loops.

In this paper we propose a novel hybrid three-dimensional phase-unwrapping algorithm, which we refer to here as the three-dimensional best-path avoiding singularity loops (3DBPASL) algorithm. This algorithm combines the advantages and avoids the drawbacks of two well-known 3D phase-unwrapping algorithms, namely, the 3D phase-unwrapping noise-immune technique and the 3D phase-unwrapping best-path technique. Hybrid robust and fast algorithm for three-dimensional phase unwrapping

We present a hybrid three-dimensional (3D) unwrapping algorithm that combines the strengths of two other fast and robust existing techniques. In particular, a branch-cut surface algorithm and a path-following method have been integrated in a symbiotic way, still keeping execution times within a range that permits their use in real-time applications that need a relatively fast solution to the problem. First, branch-cut surfaces are calculated, disregarding partial residue loops that end at the boundary of the 3D phase volume.
