Shwachman-Diamond syndrome (SDS) is one of the most commonly inherited bone marrow failure syndromes (IBMFS). In SDS, bone marrow is hypocellular, with marked neutropenia. Moreover, SDS patients have a high risk of developing myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS), which in turn increases the risk of acute myeloid leukemia (AML) from an early age. Most SDS patients are heterozygous for the c.183-184TA>CT (K62X) SBDS nonsense mutation. Geotomus granulosus, a peculiar sehirine-like new species of the subfamily Cydninae (Hemiptera: Heteroptera: Cydnidae) from Burundi

Geotomus granulosus sp. n. is described from Burundi, and is the third burrower bug species recorded hitherto from this country. This burrower bug resembles species of two Sehirinae genera, i.e. Ochetostethus Fieber, 1860 and Ochetostethomorpha Schumacher, 1913, in its dorsal body habitus. However, all its crucial diagnostic characters (the body chaetotaxy, the shape of evaporatoria and the peritreme, the meso- and metathoracic wings venation, and the shape of spermatheca) demonstrate it represents the genus Geotomus Mulsant et Rey, 1866 (subfamily Cydninae, tribe Geotomini sensu lato).
Pedagogical leadership to support new teachers' growth

This study aims to discover the impact of pedagogical leadership on new teachers’ growth. The research is focused on three questions: 1) Are new teachers’ feelings and challenges being understood?; 2) How do new teachers receive support from principals and the school community?; and 3) How does pedagogical leadership impact new teachers’ growth? The research uses the qualitative approach of case studies. Four Finnish schools were selected as participants. The principals of each school and their five new teachers, with less than three years of experience, participated in the interviews. Nawracające częstoskurcze komorowe w przebiegu zawału NSTEMI utrzymujące się pomimo rewaskularyzacji i zastosowanej farmakoterapii

Przedstawiamy pacjenta z nawracającymi niestabilnymi hemodynamicznie częstoskurczami komorowymi w okresie zawału mięśnia sercowego bez uniesienia odcinka ST powikłanego niewydolnością krążenia. Komorowe zaburzenia rytmu utrzymywały się pomimo wdrożonej farmakoterapii przeciwniewydolnościowej, zastosowania amiodaronu i przeprowadzonej rewaskularyzacji. W związku z tym zastosowano niestandardową farmakoterapię oraz metody zabiegowe takie jak ablacja endowaskularna i implantacja kardiowertera-defibrylatora.
Noiseless Quantum Measurement and Squeezing of Microwave Fields Utilizing Mechanical Vibrations

A process which strongly amplifies both quadrature amplitudes of an oscillatory signal necessarily adds noise. Alternatively, if the information in one quadrature is lost in phase-sensitive amplification, it is possible to completely reconstruct the other quadrature. Here we demonstrate such a nearly perfect phase-sensitive measurement using a cavity optomechanical scheme, characterized by an extremely small noise less than 0.2 quanta. We also observe microwave radiation strongly squeezed by 8 dB below vacuum. A source of bright squeezed microwaves opens up applications in manipulations of quantum systems, and noiseless amplification can be used even at modest cryogenic temperatures.
Recovering a variable exponent

We consider an inverse problem of recovering the non-linearity in the one dimensional variable exponent $p(x)$-Laplace equation from the Dirichlet-to-Neumann map. The variable exponent can be recovered up to the natural obstruction of rearrangements. The main technique is using the properties of a moment problem after reducing the inverse problem to determining a function from its $L^p$-norms.

Solutions with sign information for nonlinear Robin problems with no growth restriction on reaction

We consider a parametric nonlinear Robin problem driven by a nonhomogeneous differential operator. The reaction is a Carathéodory function which is only locally defined (that is, the hypotheses concern only its behaviour near zero). The conditions on the reaction are minimal. Using variational tools together with truncation, perturbation and comparison techniques and critical groups, we show that for all small values of the parameter λ > 0, the problem has at least three nontrivial smooth solutions, two of constant sign and the third nodal.
