A Magnetohydrodynamic Auxiliary Propulsion system for docking assistance of autonomous vehicle

In this article we present an approach to the description of Magnetohydrodynamic Auxiliary Propulsion system for docking assistance of autonomous vehicle. Preliminarily, an analytical model which includes an electromagnetic model and a thermal model is presented. Successively, in order to move beyond the analytical model, a 3-D MHD modeling tool and a Runge Kutta method based solver are presented and they are used to investigate an alternative MHD solutions. Integral-Imaging display from stereo-Kinect capture

In this paper, we propose a new approach in order to improve the quality of microimages and display them onto an integral imaging monitor. Our main proposal is based on the stereo-hybrid 3D camera system. Originally, hybrid camera system has dissimilarity itself. We interpret our method in order to equalize the hybrid sensor's characteristics and 3D data modification strategy. We generate integral image by using synthetic back-projection mapping method. Finally, we project the integral image onto our proposed display system. We illustrate this procedure with some imaging experiments in order to prove an advantage of our approach.

The helicoidal magnetic generator

Recently helicoidal generator for the exploitation of sea wave energy has been proposed. This device can convert both the vertical and rotational movement of seawaves. The electrical energy generated by such a device must be converted and conditioned in order to match the instantaneous utility requirements and a power link from the sea to an interconnection is needed. In this paper, the authors propose a mathematical model of this device and preliminarily present a prototype of the machine.

Ionization efficiency studies with charge breeder and conventional electron cyclotron resonance ion source

Radioactive Ion Beams play an increasingly important role in several European research facility programs such as SPES, SPIRAL1 Upgrade, and SPIRAL2, but even more for those such as EURISOL. Although remarkable advances of ECRIS charge breeders (CBs) have been achieved, further studies are needed to gain insight on the physics of the charge breeding process. The fundamental plasma processes of charge breeders are studied in the frame of the European collaboration project, EMILIE, for optimizing the charge breeding. Object size effect on the contact potential difference measured by scanning Kelvin probe method

International audience; Contact potential difference (CPD) was measured by macroscopic Kelvin probe instrument and scanning Kelvin probe microscope on Al, Ni and Pt on ITO substrates at ambient conditions. CPD values measured by scanning Kelvin probe microscope and macroscopic Kelvin probe are close within the error of about 10-30% for large studied objects, whereas scanning Kelvin probe microscope signal decreases, when the object size becomes smaller than 1.4 m. CPD and electric field signals measured using many-pass technique allowed us to estimate the influence of electrostatic field disturbance, especially, in the case of small objects.

Luminescence of divalent lanthanide doped BaBrI single crystal under synchrotron radiation excitations

Abstract Luminescence excitation spectra of BaBrI single crystals doped by divalent lanthanide ions are studied using synchrotron radiation excitations from the MAX IV 1.5 GeV storage ring. The energy of the edge and the formation of core cation exciton as well as the energy threshold of the multiplications of electronic excitations is found. It was clearly established the energy transfer from intrinsic luminescence centers to Sm2+ and Eu2+ ions.

Systematic and statistical uncertainties of the hilbert-transform based high-precision FID frequency extraction method.

Abstract Pulsed nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) is widely used in high-precision magnetic field measurements. The absolute value of the magnetic field is determined from the precession frequency of nuclear magnetic moments. The Hilbert transform is one of the methods that have been used to extract the phase function from the observed free induction decay (FID) signal and then its frequency. New fine structures resolved at the ELNES Ti-L2,3 edge spectra of anatase and rutile: comparison between experiment and calculation.

Abstract Anatase and rutile Ti- L 2,3 edge spectra were measured in electron energy loss spectroscopy (EELS) using a transmission electron microscope (TEM) coupled to a CEOS Cs-probe corrector, an omega-type monochromator and an in-column omega-type energy filter fully corrected for 2nd order aberrations. Thanks to the high energy resolution, high electron probe current and high stability achieved under this instrumental configuration, new fine structures, never reported before, were resolved at the L 3 band of both rutile and anatase.
