Instability tests in cointegration relationships. An application to the term structure of interest rates

Abstract This paper tries to review, from a practitioner's point of view, the recent strand of literature on cointegration tests allowing for structural changes or parameter instability. Thus, we apply several tests using as an example the expectations model of the term structure of interest rates. The results are consistent with the existence of cointegration between the long and the short run Spanish interest rates, with a vector (1,−1), as predicted by the theory. A wavelet analysis of the ripple effect in UK regional housing markets

Abstract The paper aims at gaining insights on the spatio-temporal mechanism of house price spillovers, also known as ripple effect, among 12 UK regional housing markets, over the period 1973–2018. From a policy perspective, it is essential to discriminate if the effects of a shock decay more slowly along the geographical dimension as compared to the decay along the time dimension. We enter the debate in a novel manner by using some wavelet analysis tools (wavelet coherence and phase differences amongst others) which reveal the spectral characteristics of a series and show how different periodic components of housing returns evolve over time. Tutkielman tavoitteena on tutkia, kuinka Eeva Kilven teos Kuolinsiivous osallistuu julkiseen keskusteluun vanhuudesta ja millaista vanhuuskuvaa se rakentaa, sekä Eeva Kilven myöhäistä tyyliä eli hänen ikänsä ja lähestyvän kuolemansa vaikutusta teokseen. Kysymykseen Kuolinsiivouksen vanhuuskuvasta liittyy oletus teoksen asettumisesta vastarintaan medialle tyypillisiä vanhuuden kurjuutta ja koomisuutta korostavia puhe- ja kuvaamistapoja vastaan. This paper compares the organic and conventional citriculture systems in Spain from the perspective of their technical efficiency. The primary objective of the research is to compare the relative efficiency of these two systems in relation to a metafrontier that envelops both technologies. In addition, the article analyses how efficient each growing system is at using its own technology, that is, when farms’ efficiency is benchmarked in relation to the best practices in their group.
