Two new heteroleptic iridium(III) complexes [Ir(ppy)(2)(pyr(2)bpy)][PF(6)] ([1a][PF(6)]) and [Ir(dfppy)(2)(pyr(2)bpy)][PF(6)] ([2a][PF(6)]), where Hppy = 2-phenylpyridine, Hdfppy = 2-(3,5-difluorophenyl)pyridine, and pyr(2)bpy = 5,5'-bis(pyren-1-yl)-2,2'-bipyridine, have been synthesized and fully characterized. The single-crystal structures of pyr(2)bpy and the complexes 4{[1a][PF(6)]}·2CH(2)Cl(2)·9H(2)O and [2a][PF(6)]·0.25CH(2)Cl(2)·H(2)O have been determined. Changes in feeding niche widths of perch and roach following biomanipulation, revealed by stable isotope analysis

Summary 1. We made an empirical test of a recent proposal that feeding niche widths might be determined as variance of stable isotope values. We determined δ13C and δ15N values of perch (Perca fluviatilis), roach (Rutilus rutilus) and their prey from a biomanipulated lake, when the mass removal of fish led to reduced inter- and intra-specific competition and increases in zooplankton abundance and body size. 2. After the first fish removals, both perch and roach mean δ13C values decreased and mean δ15N values increased, indicating a greater diet contribution from pelagic sources. 3. Abstract The paper deals with a specific laboratory study aiming at perfectioning recycled asphalt with high mechanical performance, for surface and structural layers of flexible pavements. This paper explores the relationship between the characteristics of the doctoral training and the recruitment of young PhDs in the private sector in France. We used information from a national representative survey of 1246 PhDs graduated in 2001 and interviewed in 2004. We focus on the recruitment and PhD returns among research-based jobs and non-research jobs in the private sector. Our econometrics results show that access and wages in the R&D jobs strongly depends on previous labour experience during the PhD (participation in a research contract, private funding for the PhD).
