Feromonu un maršruta atmiņas loma kolektīvo lēmumu pieņemšanā melnajai skudrai Lasius niger (Linnaeus, 1758)
2015

Composition of the Essential Oil ofDictamnus hispanicusfrom Spain
2006
The composition of the essential oil of Dictamnus hispanicus Webb ex. Willk. collected in eastern Spain was analyzed by GC and GC/MS. The main constituents identified were methyl chavicol (79%) and limonene (7%). The high oil yield (72.0% fresh plant material) and the proportion of the main compounds support the consideration of D. hispanicus as a separate species of the S. and CS. Europe as D. albus aggregate or as a new chemotype of the polymorphic D. albus.
Chemical constituents of the volatile oil of Murraya koenigii leaves
2004
Abstract The chemical composition of the volatile oil of the fresh leaves of Murraya koenigii growing wild in Dehra Dun was analyzed by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry. Thirty-four compounds consisting of 97.4% of the oil were identified. The major constituents identified were α-pinene (51.7%), sabinene (10.5%), β-pinene (9.8%), β-caryophyllene (5.5%), limonene (5.4%), bornyl acetate (1.8%), terpinen-4-ol (1.3%), γ-terpinene (1.2%) and α-humulene (1.2%).
Aroma Profiling of Leaf, Flower, Peel and In Vitro Embryo Tissues of “Ciaculli Late” Mandarin
2003
Abstract Volatile compounds released from leaf, flower and peel as well as from somatic (nucellar) embryo tissues of “Tardivo di Ciaculli” or “Ciaculli late” mandarin have been collected/ concentrated by headspace solid phase microextraction, HS-SPME, and analyzed by GC-MS. The tehnique allowed the rapid comparison of the volatiles from the various sources; in particular, 19 compounds were identified for the embryos, 16 for leaf and flower and 13 for peel. Limonene was the most abundant volatile component of the embryo and peel while γ-terpinene was the major compound among volatiles from leaf and flower. Relatively high amounts of methyl N-methyl anthranilate and β-caryophyllene were also …
Volatile constituents of flowering twig oil
2004
Summary The chemical constituents of the volatile oil of mature flowering twigs of wild Hyptis swaveolens growing widely in northern India were analyzed by gas chromatography–mass spectrometry. Forty one compounds consisting of 77.75% of the oil were identified. The major constituents of the oil were sabinene (14.18%), β-caryophyllene (12.52%), caryophyllene oxide (10.50%), abietatriene (6.42%), terpinen-4-ol (4.88%), limonene (4.42%), cis -sabinene hydrate (3.52%), spathulenol (3.14%), α-terpinolene (2.75%), β-pinene (2.42%), p -cymen-8-ol (1.76%), trans -sabinene hydrate (1.33%) and abietadiene (1.01%).
Cytotoxicity of botanicals and isolated phytochemicals from Araliopsis soyauxii Engl. (Rutaceae) towards a panel of human cancer cells.
2020
Abstract Ethnopharmacological relevance Araliopsis soyauxii Engl. (Rutaceae) is a Cameroonian medicinal plant traditionally used to treat lung diseases, malaria, and gonorrhea. It has been demonstrated that infectious disease contribute to about 20% of all human tumours. Aims of the study (1) To perform a phytochemical investigation of the dichloromethane-methanol 1:1 extracts of the bark (ASB), roots (ASR), and leaves (ASL) from Araliopsis soyauxii; (2) to evaluate the cytotoxicity of extracts and isolated compounds; (3) to determine the mode of induction of apoptosis of ASB and kihadanin B (12). Materials and methods Fourteen constituents of the crude extracts were isolated by column chro…
Oxidative burst inhibitory and cytotoxic amides and lignans from the stem bark of Fagara heitzii (Rutaceae)
2009
Two amides, heitziamide A and heitziamide B and two phenylethanoids, heitziethanoid A and heitziethanoid B together with thirteen known compounds were isolated from F. heitzii (Letouzey). The structures of all compounds were established by spectroscopic analysis. Nine compounds were evaluated for oxidative burst inhibitory activity in a chemoluminescence assay and for cytotoxicity against PC-3 prostate cancer cells. All compounds exhibited a clear suppressive effect on phagocytosis response upon activation with serum opsonized zymosan at the range of IC50 = 2.0-6.5 mu M, but no cytotoxic effect was observed (IC50 > 100 mu M). Snapshot of a social movement: Mental health and protest classes in Hong Kong
2021
Abstract Background Popular protests have broken out worldwide, particularly in the last few years. In 2019, numerous demonstrations against an extradition bill occurred in Hong Kong until pandemic restrictions were imposed. The policing response relied heavily on methods such as batons, tear gas and rubber bullets. Given the relevance for other geographical contexts, the current study investigated the mental health impacts on protest participants and spillover to community members. Methods Surveys were disseminated on social media in August and October 2019 to collect demographics, political views, protest participation, exposure to (protest-related) potentially traumatic events (PTEs) and…
Contratación internacional de médicos/as latinoamericanos/as en Portugal y España
2015
From the experiences of Latin American doctors who practice their profession in Portugal and Spain, the article seeks to compare the international recruit…
