This study aims to elucidate how modern presentation technology is being used by Norwegian Christian congregations. It is based on a survey answered by 715 church leaders, and the practice revealed is discussed particularly on the basis of Eileen D. Crowley's framework for ‘liturgical media art’. The findings show that presentation technology is used to a significant extent, but mainly as practical, visual support for communication. The article argues that there is a potential to use technology for aesthetic purposes as well.

R. Ghezzi - Volume measures in non equiregular sub-Riemannian manifolds

In this talk we study the Hausdorff volume in a non equiregular sub-Riemannian manifold and we compare it to a smooth volume. First we give the Lebesgue decomposition of the Hausdorff volume. Then we focus on the regular part, show that it is not commensurable with a smooth volume and give conditions under which it is a Radon measure. Finally we give a complete characterization of the singular part. This is a joint work with F. Jean (ENSTA).

Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast (ADS-B) is a cornerstone of the next-generation digital sky and is now mandated in several countries. However, there have been many reports of serious security vulnerabilities in the ADS-B architecture. In this paper, we demonstrate and evaluate the impact of multiple cyberattacks on ADS-B via remote radio frequency links that affected various network, processing, and display subsystems used within the ADS-B ecosystem. Overall we implemented and tested 12 cyberattacks on ADS-B in a controlled environment, out of which 5 attacks were presented or implemented for the first time. In recent years, a growing number of forced migrants have travelled to Italy across the Mediterranean Sea. While the number of new arrivals has diminished since 2017, the Italian reception system still struggles to process the high number of applications for international protection. A significant proportion of forced migrants who arrive in Italy end up living in informal settlements, such as occupied buildings, shacks, containers and tented camps. Communicating across the borders: managing work-life boundaries through communication in various domains

Communicating work issues at home and home issues at work, also known as across-the-border (ATB) communication, is a part of everyday work and family interaction. This study focuses on the concept of ATB communication, using Work/Family Border Theory, according to which the boundaries between work and private life are seen as negotiated and shaped through social interactions and practices. We argue that through ATB communication, and especially by focusing on what is shared and how, employees can manage boundaries and achieve work-life balance. This study describes teacher turn-allocation and repair practices in classroom interaction. The primary aim is to investigate what kinds of embodied actions and other semiotic resources teachers draw on when allocating turns to next speakers and when projecting repair actions in activities structured according to the tripartite instructional sequence of Initiation-Response-Evaluation. The study combines the theoretical and methodological framework of Conversation Analysis and a Goodwinian view of interaction as dynamically and reflexively created through a myriad of semiotic resources. Acoustic wave tunneling across a vacuum gap between two piezoelectric crystals with arbitrary symmetry and orientation

It is not widely appreciated that an acoustic wave can “jump” or “tunnel” across a vacuum gap between two piezoelectric solids, nor has the general case been formulated or studied in detail. Here, we remedy that situation, by presenting a general formalism and approach to study such an acoustic tunneling effect between two arbitrarily oriented anisotropic piezoelectric semi-infinite crystals. The approach allows one to solve for the reflection and transmission coefficients of all the partial-wave modes, and is amenable to practical numerical or even analytical implementation, as we demonstrate by a few chosen examples. Gramatikas-tulkošanas metodes un komunikatīvās pieejas izmantošana vārdu krājuma apguvei 4. klasē

Diplomdarbs ir pētījuma rezultāts, lai noskaidrotu kā dažādas vārda krājuma apguves metodes var palīdzēt skolēniem iemācīties, atcerēties un apgūt jaunus vārdus, izmantojot divas dažādas metodes valodas mācīšanā – gramatikas-tulkošanas metodi un komunikatīvo pieeju. Abas mācību metodes tika izvēlētas, ņemot vērā to kontrastējošās īpašības un popularitāti mūsdienu klasē, izpētot, kā dažādām mācību metodēm var būt atšķirīgi rezultāti vārdu apguvei. Pēc tam tika izvēlēta viena ceturtā klase kas tika sadalīta divās grupās, pirmā grupa tika mācīta izmantojot komunikatīvo pieeju, otrā grupa – gramatikas-tulkošanas metodi. Beigās tika izveidots tests, lai noskaidrotu skolēnu vārdu krājuma līmeni. …
