Reply to Comment on "Exact analytic solution for the generalized Lyapunov exponent of the 2-dimensional Anderson localization"

We reply to comments by P.Marko$\breve{s}$, L.Schweitzer and M.Weyrauch [preceding paper] on our recent paper [J. Phys.: Condens. Matter 63, 13777 (2002)]. We demonstrate that our quite different viewpoints stem for the different physical assumptions made prior to the choice of the mathematical formalism. The authors of the Comment expect \emph{a priori} to see a single thermodynamic phase while our approach is capable of detecting co-existence of distinct pure phases. The limitations of the transfer matrix techniques for the multi-dimensional Anderson localization problem are discussed.

On the Sign Problem of the Fermionic Shadow Wave Function

We present a whole series of novel methods to alleviate the sign problem of the Fermionic Shadow Wave Function in the context of Variational Monte Carlo. The effectiveness of our new techniques is demonstrated on the example of liquid 3He. We found that although the variance is substantially reduced, the gain in efficiency is restricted by the increased computational cost. Yet, this development not only extends the scope of the Fermionic Shadow Wave Function, but also facilitates highly accurate Quantum Monte Carlo simulations previously thought not feasible.

Organization and evolution of synthetic idiotypic networks

We introduce a class of weighted graphs whose properties are meant to mimic the topological features of idiotypic networks, namely the interaction networks involving the B-core of the immune system. Each node is endowed with a bit-string representing the idiotypic specificity of the corresponding B cell and a proper distance between any couple of bit-strings provides the coupling strength between the two nodes. We show that a biased distribution of the entries in bit-strings can yield fringes in the (weighted) degree distribution, small-worlds features, and scaling laws, in agreement with experimental findings. Glass transitions and scaling laws within an alternative mode-coupling theory

Idealized glass transitions are discussed within an alternative mode-coupling theory (TMCT) proposed by Tokuyama [Physica A 395, 31 (2014)]. This is done in order to identify common ground with and differences from the conventional mode-coupling theory (MCT). It is proven that both theories imply the same scaling laws for the transition dynamics, which are characterized by two power-law decay functions and two diverging power-law time scales. The interaction between two-level systems (TLS) and strain fields in a solid is contained in the diagonal matrix element of the interaction hamiltonian, $\delta$, which, in general, has the expression $\delta=2[\gamma]:[S]$, with the tensor $[\gamma]$ describing the TLS ``deformability'' and $[S]$ being the symmetric strain tensor. We construct $[\gamma]$ on very general grounds, by associating to the TLS two objects: a direction, $\hat\bt$, and a forth rank tensor of coupling constants, $[[R]]$. Energy landscape properties studied using symbolic sequences

We investigate a classical lattice system with $N$ particles. The potential energy $V$ of the scalar displacements is chosen as a $\phi ^4$ on-site potential plus interactions. Its stationary points are solutions of a coupled set of nonlinear equations. Starting with Aubry's anti-continuum limit it is easy to establish a one-to-one correspondence between the stationary points of $V$ and symbolic sequences $\bm{\sigma} = (\sigma_1,...,\sigma_N)$ with $\sigma_n=+,0,-$.
