Histone H3 Lysine 4 Mono-methylation does not Require Ubiquitination of Histone H2B

The yeast Set1-complex catalyzes histone H3 lysine 4 (H3K4) methylation. Using N-terminal Edman sequencing, we determined that 50% of H3K4 is methylated and consists of roughly equal amounts of mono, di and tri-methylated H3K4. We further show that loss of either Paf1 of the Paf1 elongation complex, or ubiquitination of histone H2B, has only a modest effect on bulk histone mono-methylation at H3K4. Despite the fact that Set1 recruitment decreases in paf1delta cells, loss of Paf1 results in an increase of H3K4 mono-methylation at the 5' coding region of active genes, suggesting a Paf1-independent targeting of Set1. This article offers a full updating of the biographical records of the writer Joan Roís de Corella (1435-1497) and his family: his great-grandparents, grandparents, parents, siblings and children. All data are presented in a systematic way, generation by generation, and a new vision of the writer himself is offered. In its documentary section, 432 documents are transcribed or summarised, dating from 1373 to 1516. A broad range of new archival data is presented; other previously known data are corrected or improved. Este trabajo estudia la relación excepcional entre acontecimientos históricos y género sacramental, a partir de un auto que se dio por perdido durante bastantes años. Se trata de El socorro de Cádiz de Juan Pérez de Montalbán en el que se alegoriza la defensa de Cádiz contra los ingleses en 1625. This paper analyzes the exceptional relationship between historical events and the sacramental genre, based on an «auto» that was considered lost during many years. This «auto» is El socorro de Cádiz by Juan Pérez de Montalbán, in which the playwright allegorizes the defense of Cádiz against the English in 1625.

Piles of animal bones from large domesticates – cattle and horses – have been identified on various settlement sites in Gaul ; these have undergone practices readily distinguishable from domestic butchery. Already perceptible on rural sites, these indications of a special butchery regime for cattle become more and more apparent elsewhere in tandem with the increasingly urbanised character of settlements. Cattle was also sacrificed during the Iron Age at sanctuaries, but only a small proportion of the meat produced was consumed in banquets held on site. Formulado originalmente en las miniaturas medievales que se apoyaban en su papel de salmista y fundador de la música sacra, esta tipología tomó episodios de su vida que se convirtieron en modelos de penitencia.
