Label-Free Proteomics of Quantity-Limited Samples Using Ion Mobility-Assisted Data-Independent Acquisition Mass Spectrometry

Over the past two decades, unbiased data-independent acquisition (DIA) approaches have gained increasing popularity in the bottom-up proteomics field. Here, we describe an ion mobility separation enhanced DIA workflow for large-scale label-free quantitative proteomics studies where starting material is limited. We set a special focus on the single pot solid-phase-enhanced sample preparation (SP3) protocol, which is well suited for the processing of quantity-limited samples.
Drivers of food waste reduction behaviour in the household context

Studies on the drivers of household consumer engagement in various food waste reduction strategies have been limited. We thus address this gap by developing a research model that utilises two well-known theories, namely, the Theory of Interpersonal Behaviour (TIB) and the Comprehensive Model of Environmental Psychology (CMEP), to explain food waste reduction behaviour in household consumers. However, research on organic food shows a low translation of this interest into stated preferences for purchasing organic food. Building an Optimal WSD Ensemble Using Per-Word Selection of Best System

In Senseval workshops for evaluating WSD systems [1,4,9], no one system or system type (classifier algorithm, type of system ensemble, extracted feature set, lexical knowledge source etc.) has been discovered that resolves all ambiguous words into their senses in a superior way. This paper presents a novel method for selecting the best system for target word based on readily available word features (number of senses, average amount of training per sense, dominant sense ratio). Background An adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system (ANFIS) was employed to predict the oxidative stability of virgin olive oil (VOO) during storage as a function of time, storage temperature, total polyphenol, α-tocopherol, fatty acid profile, ultraviolet (UV) extinction coefficient (K268 ), and diacylglycerols (DAGs). Results The mean total quantities of polyphenols and DAGs were 1.1 and 1.9 times lower in VOOs stored at 25 °C than in the initial samples, and the mean total quantities of polyphenols and DAGs were 1.3 and 2.26 times lower in VOOs stored at 37 °C than in the initial samples, respectively.
