Promoting Cooperation between Educational Institutions and Workplaces : Models of Integrative Pedagogy and Connectivity Revisited

This theoretical review reflects on the development and application of the Integrative Pedagogical model as well as the Connective model investigating the organisation of learning in the interface between educational institutions and workplaces. The article explores the aspects that these two models emphasise, and identifies similarities and differences between them. Key studies on these approaches were reviewed to accomplish the task. Tutkimukseni kohteena on epäasiallisen työpaikkakäyttäytymisen ja työpaikkakiusaamisen ilmiö. Lähestyn aihetta kvalitatiivisin tutkimusmenetelmin, aineistonani Yhteiskuntatieteellisestä tietoarkistosta löytyvä laadullinen tutkimusaineisto: FSD2607 Tarinat pelosta ja pelottelusta työelämässä. Käytetty tutkimusaineisto sisältää 101 yksilöiden omin sanoin kertomaa tarinaa heidän kokemistaan epäasiallisuuksista työpaikoilla. Evolution of nurses' social representation of hospital hygiene: From training to practice

Nurses' social representations of hospital hygiene were analyzed. A cross-sectional method was used to compare and analyze the social representations of the concept domain of "hospital hygiene" across three independent groups of participants (N=744). The groups included: (a) professional nurses (N=114); (b) student nurses (N=315); and (c) psychology students (N=315). Comparisons were drawn: (a) between professionals and students; and (b) between student nurse cohorts at three different levels (years) of training. Tämä Tansaniaan sijoittuva väitöskirjatutkimus tarkastelee vammaisuutta kehityskysymyksenä seksuaali- ja lisääntymisterveyden ja -oikeuksien kautta. Se edistää intersektionaalista ja kontekstisidonnaista ymmärrystä vammaisuudesta, sukupuolesta ja nuoruudesta. Tutkimuksen teoreettisena inspiraationa hyödynnettiin vammaisuuden sosiaalista ja ihmisoikeusmallia. Tutkimus haastaa tiedonhankinnan kolonialiteetteja perehtymällä 199 tansanialaisen eri tavoin vammaisen tytön näkemyksiin. The main objective of this study was to present a planned methodology to systematically review, and synthesise, the evidence regarding sand play and its associations with 0–8-year-old children’s health and development. Applying Student Development Theories: Enhancing International Student Academic Success and Integration

Student development theories (SDT) focus on the growth and change occurring in students while attending higher education. In this article, we propose that the application of student development theories supports holistic development in international students and helps us understand international students’ academic success and integration. We outline a combination of student development models, derived from SDT, and interact them with concepts from international student mobility and migration (ISM). These models, when applied to student services, may assist higher education institutions (HEIs) in designing student services for international students enhancing academic success and integration.

Tutkimuksen tehtävänä on selvittää, millainen keskustelu ulkomaalaisten maanomistuksesta rakentui eteläkarjalaisessa maakuntalehdessä, Etelä-Saimaassa. Tutkimus palaa kesään 2007 ja tarkastelee kriittistä diskurssianalyysia apuna käyttäen lehdessä rakentuneita diskursseja ja niiden representaatioita eri genreissä ja genrejen rajapinnoilla.
