Project-Based Learning: A Case for Situated Translation

The author proposes replacing the folk theoretical ‘conduit’ view of learning that still predominates in Translator Education with a principled understanding of cognitive and learning processes for the design of learning events in Translator Education. A collaborative, project-based educational experience is presented by way of illustration. In conclusion, an argument is made for studying collaborative learning events to gain insight into the multi-facetted nature of the learning process as well as of the translation process itself.

La confección de una cartografía efectiva de riesgo de inundación precisa de la elaboración previa de mapas de peligro, que recojan las zonas sometidas a los procesos naturales asociados a la crecida. Para la configuración de estos mapas resulta muy útil el estudio de las áreas afectadas en sucesos concretos. We conducted a systematic literature search to evaluate the methodological quality of articles that claim CRPS does not exist. For this reason the scientific community has dedicated a lot of effort to research activity on reactor tritium breeding blankets. Identification of mycorrhiza-regulated genes with arbuscule development-related expression profile

Suppressive subtractive hybridisation was applied to the analysis of late stage arbuscular mycorrhizal development in pea. 96 cDNA clones were amplified and 81, which carried fragments more than 200 nt in size, were sequence analysed. Among 67 unique fragments, 10 showed no homology and 10 were similar to sequences with unknown function. RNA accumulation of the corresponding 67 genes was analysed by hybridisation of macro-arrays. The cDNAs used as probes were derived from roots of wild type and late mutant pea genotypes, inoculated or not with the AM fungus Glomus mosseae. Association of accelerometer‐measured physical activity and midlife income : A Northern Finland Birth Cohort 1966 Study

This study investigated the association between physical activity (PA) and midlife income. The population-based data comprised employed members of the Northern Finland Birth Cohort 1966 (N = 2797). Using binned scatterplots and polynomial regressions, we evaluated the association between accelerometer-measured moderate PA (MPA), vigorous PA (VPA), and moderate-to-vigorous PA (MVPA) at 46 years old and register-based income at 50 years old. The models were adjusted for sex, marital status, number of children, education, adolescent PA, occupational physical strenuousness, and time preference.
