Determination of fluoride after direct separation from acid medium by collection of its volatile compounds

1989

A method is proposed for determination of fluoride by separation in acid medium followed by ion-selective electrode measurement. The separation is done at temperatures up to 200 °C, without any previous treatment of the sample, in a PTFE reactor designed to ensure the complete absorption of volatile fluoride compounds. The distillation variables (temperature, time and acid concentration) have been optimized and the interference of other various species in the separation step has been studied. The method has been applied to geological samples. The results obtained are statistically satisfactory.

ChemInform Abstract: Enantioselective LaIII-pyBOX-Catalyzed Nitro-Michael Addition to (E)-2-Azachalcones.

2013

A [La(OTf)3] complex with a new pyBOX ligand bearing a bulky 1-naphthylmethyl substituent at the 4′-position of the oxazoline ring catalyzes the conjugate addition of nitroalkanes to a broad range of (E)-2-azachalcones, providing the expected nitro-Michael products with good yields and enantiomeric excesses up to 87 %. The optical purity of the products can be increased by a single crystallization. A plausible stereochemical model to account for the observed stereochemistry has been proposed.

ChemInform Abstract: Highly Enantioselective Copper(I)-Catalyzed Conjugate Addition of 1,3-Diynes to α,β-Unsaturated Trifluoromethyl Ketones.

2015

The conjugate diynylation of α,β-saturated trifluoromethyl ketones is carried out at low catalytic loading (2.5 mol% for aryl substituents) of a copper(I)—MeO-BIPHEP complex, triethylamine and a terminal 1,3-diyne.

ChemInform Abstract: Hydrophobically Directed Aldol Reactions: Polystyrene-Supported L-Proline as a Recyclable Catalyst for Direct Asymmetric Aldol R…

2008

A simple synthetic methodology for the preparation of a polystyrene-supported L-proline material is reported, and this material has been used as catalyst in direct asymmetric aldol reactions between several ketones and arylaldehydes to furnish aldol products in high yields and stereoselectivities. Screening of solvents showed that these reactions take place only in the presence of water or methanol, at lower levels of conversion in the latter case. This solvent effect, coupled with the observed high stereoselectivities, has been explained in terms of the formation of a hydrophobic core in the inner surface of the resin, whereas the hydrophilic proline moiety lies at the resin/water interfac…

CMPO-substituted calix[6]- and calix[8]arene extractants for the separation of An3+/Ln3+ from radioactive waste

2006

Abstract Three calix[6]arene derivatives ( 1a – c ) and two calix[8]arene derivatives ( 2a , b ), with six and eight CMPO residues, respectively, attached to the narrow/lower rim via ether links, were synthesised. Preliminary liquid–liquid extraction studies for Eu(III) and Am(III) from aqueous nitric acid to o -nitrophenylhexyl ether reveal remarkable properties with respect to efficiency and selectivity, especially for the tert -butylcalix[6]arene derivative with a –(CH 2 ) 3 – spacer.

New multicomponent catalysts for the selective aerobic oxidative condensation of benzylamine to N-benzylidenebenzylamine

2014

Aerobic oxidative condensation of benzylamine to N-benzylidenebenzylamine was carried out on new gold-based catalysts using as support bimodal UVM-7-like mesoporous silica containing Ni and Ce (or Sn) as oxide nanodomains partially embedded inside the mesoporous UVM-7 silica walls. These nanodomains acted as effective and stable inorganic anchors favoring the nucleation, growth and stability of supported gold particles. Following the atrane method (a “one-pot” strategy able to harmonize the hydrolytic reactivity of different heteroelements through the use of complexes containing triethanolamine-derived ligands (atranes) as precursors) the stability of the oxide nanodomains during oxidation …
