Enforcing mobile security with location-aware role-based access control

This paper describes how location-aware role-based access control RBAC can be implemented on top of the Geospatial eXtensible Access Control Markup Language GeoXACML. It furthermore sketches how spatial separation of duty constraints both static and dynamic can be implemented using GeoXACML on top of the XACML RBAC profile. The solution uses physical addressing of geographical locations, which facilitates easy deployment of authorisation profiles to the mobile device. Improving Isolation of Blindly Separated Sources Using Time-Frequency Masking

A refinement technique based on time-frequency masking is proposed to improve source isolation in blind audio source separation algorithms. The refinement technique uses an energy-normalized source-to-interference ratio in order to identify and eliminate interfering energy from the extracted sources. Some examples using this refinement method with different separation algorithms are discussed. The results show that source isolation can be significantly enhanced with negligible degradation of the separated sources.

Enhanced electronic communication through a conjugated bridge in a porphyrin-fullerene donor-acceptor couple

A ZnP-2EDOTV-C60 triad, with enhanced electronic communication between terminus donor and acceptor moieties, was synthesized and studied both experimentally and theoretically. Electrochemical measurements and density functional theory calculations support that the first oxidation takes place on the 3,4-ethylenedioxythiophenevinylene (2EDOTV) bridge followed by the oxidation of the ZnP moiety at slightly higher energies. The electronic communication between the terminal electron-donor ZnP and the electron-acceptor C60 units is enhanced by the conjugated EDOTV-based spacer leading to photoinduced electron transfer over the distance >2 nm in the picosecond time domain. Half-Heusler compounds have been in focus as potential materials for thermoelectric energy conversion in the mid-temperature range, e.g., as in automotive or industrial waste heat recovery, for more than ten years now. [EN] A visible-light driven photoelectrochemical degradation process has been applied to a solution polluted with the organophosphate insecticide chlorfenvinphos. Different WO3 nanosheets/nanorods have been used as photoanodes. These nanostructured electrodes have been fabricated by anodization of tungsten and, subsequently, they have been subjected to a thermal treatment (annealing). A full-atom multiscale modelling for sodium chloride diffusion in anion exchange membranes

Abstract A novel full-atom multiscale method, combining different computational approaches and aimed to describe diffusion of multiple ions in anion exchange membranes (AEM), is presented. The method is used to evaluate diffusion of chloride and sodium ions in polysulfone tetramethylammonium (PSU-TMA) membranes, with particular attention to the co-ion diffusion. The hydration of the PSU-TMA is computed as a function of the membrane ionic exchange capacity via Density Functional Theory (DFT) and used for carrying out molecular dynamics simulations (MD).
