This pilot study describes a type of drama suitable for special education and care, in which daily care providers step into a sensory story with their disabled pairs. Avioliitolla oli 1800-luvun maaseudulla monia merkityksiä sekä yksilöiden elämänkulussa että väestörakenteellisesti. Suomen historian pro gradu -tutkielmassani tarkastelen avioitumista ajallisena, sosiaalisena ja alueellisena ilmiönä 1800-luvun Suonenjoella. Ensisijaisena tutkimusaineistona käytän Suonenjoen seurakunnan vihittyjen luetteloita vuosilta 1800–1809 ja vuosilta 1870–1879. Tutkielmassani vertailen kahta eri vuosikymmentä ja tarkastelen 1800-luvun kuluessa tapahtuneita muutoksia avioitumiskäyttäytymisessä. Artikkeli on tapaustutkimus paikallisrahajärjestelmästä, jota kokeiltiin äskettäin maalaisympäristössä Sysmän kunnassa. Paikallisraha on yksi innovaatiivisista aloitteista, joita kunta on tehnyt tällä vuosituhannella torjuakseen jo 1960-luvulta alkaen käynnissä ollutta väestökatoa. Tässä artikkelissa tutkitaan paikallisrahan käynnistysvaihetta siihen sisältyneiden ristiriitojen näkökulmasta. Seutukuntien lähtö- ja tulomuuton välinen yhteys Suomessa

Tutkimuksen aiheena on seutukuntien lähtö- ja tulomuuton välinen yhteys Suomessa vuosina 1994–2012. Yhteyttä tutkittiin korrelaation avulla. Tulokseksi saatiin, että seutukuntien lähtö- ja tulomuuttoasteiden välillä on Suomessa huomattava positiivinen korrelaatio. Muiden muuttoliikkeiden välisten suhteiden osalta Suomessa havaittiin positiivinen korrelaatio tulo- ja nettomuuttoasteiden välillä sekä negatiivinen korrelaatio lähtö- ja nettomuuttoasteiden välillä. Lähtö- ja tulomuuton välinen tarkastelu jaettiin vuosittaisten korrelaatioiden perusteella kahteen ajanjaksoon. Extended Families as Communities of Religious Experience in Late Seventeenth-Century Eastern Finland

AbstractThis chapter offers an interpretation of extended families as communities of experience in a rural area close to the eastern border of the Swedish realm. Through a case study of lower court records, Kuha examines the social and religious life in a 17th-century farm culminating in the crisis of an extended family. The chapter explores how practices of lived religion shaped the relationship of the community and the individual, and how experiences were negotiated within families and local communities. The analysis highlights the importance of protecting the boundaries of the household as well as the meaning of religious practices in creating cohesion within the community.

The synthesis of high-performance carbon-based materials from biomass residues for electrodes has been considered a challenge to achieve in supercapacitor-based production. In this work, activated biochar has been prepared as the active electrode material for supercapacitors (SCs), and an effective method has been explored to boost its capacitive performance by employing polypyrrole (PPy) as a biochar dopant. The results for physicochemical characterization data have demonstrated that PPy doping affects the biochar morphology, specific surface area, pore structure, and incorporation of surface functionalities on modified biochar. Within the framework of a training program in Cambodia, during a visit to the National Museum in Phnom Penh, the most important in the Kingdom of Cambodia, the authors noted the presence of some signs of a termite attack in the secondary elements of the roof of an inner garden. Following this observation, a further investigation was performed in order to evaluate the phytosanitary condition of the wooden bearing element of the roof. The inspection highlighted the presence of severe decay, constituting a real danger for the integrity of the roof; consequently, an intervention of restoration, conservation and safeguard was considered to be necessary and urgent. Texts on labels are important because they form the main component of a museum’s communication model. The aim of this paper is to present and analyze how museums use texts to stimulate active involvement of their visitors. Their conclusions, based on analyses of museum texts in historical and art exhibitions, are as follows: museums use catchy titles to draw visitors’ attention; museums use active voice and emotive words to build more personal comment; museums use quotations to build connection between people and objects or history; museums place objects in cultural context.
