En la presente tesis se demuestra por primera vez que tanto NT3 como su receptor TrkC se expresan en el tejido adiposo (AT) visceral humano, y en distintos tejidos adiposos blancos (WAT) y pardos (BAT) de roedores. La expresión de NT3 es menor en adipocitos que en los vasos sanguíneos que irrigan el tejido. La expresión de TrkC en los adipocitos es semejante a la de adrenoceptores beta (AR-β3), principales moduladores metabólicos del AT, lo que sugiere un papel funcional para la vía NT3/TrkC en adipocitos. Parvoviruses are an important platform for gene and cancer therapy. Their cell entry and the following steps including nuclear import are inefficient limiting their use in therapeutic applications.
