Resonance frequency breathing (RFB) is a form of slow breathing at around six breaths/min, whose immediate effects are to substantially increase heart rate variability (HRV) and to reduce stress levels. Since RFB has already been successfully used on its own to treat various emotional disorders, we wanted to evaluate its effect on emotional processing when used as a preparatory intervention in improvisational music therapy. Quenching of gA deduced from the β-spectrum shape of 113Cd measured with the COBRA experiment

A dedicated study of the quenching of the weak axial-vector coupling strength gA in nuclear processes has been performed by the COBRA collaboration. This investigation is driven by nuclear model calculations which show that the β-spectrum shape of the fourfold forbidden non-unique decay of 113Cd strongly depends on the effective value of gA. Using an array of CdZnTe semiconductor detectors, 45 independent 113Cd spectra were obtained and interpreted in the context of three nuclear models. The resulting effective mean values are g‾A(ISM)=0.915±0.007, g‾A(MQPM)=0.911±0.013 and g‾A(IBFM-2)=0.955±0.022. Comparison of quantitative Holocene temperature reconstructions using multiple proxies from a northern boreal lake

Four biotic proxies (plant macrofossils, pollen, chironomids and diatoms) are employed to quantitatively reconstruct variations in mean July air temperatures ( Tjul) at Lake Loitsana (northern Finland) during the Holocene. The aim is to evaluate the robustness and biases in these temperature reconstructions and to compare the timing of highest Tjul in the individual reconstructions. Laulunopetus oli keskeinen oppiaine kansakoulussa koko sen toiminnan ajan. 1950-luvun lopulla oppiaine alkoi hitaasti muuttua musiikinopetuksen suuntaan Orff-soittimiston tullessa osaksi opetusta. Tutkielman tarkoitus on selvittää miten koulusoitinten tulo näkyi kansakoulunopettajien valmistuksessa. Tutkielma keskittyy lukuvuoden 1963-1964 musiikin pedagogiikkaan Helsingin opettajakorkeakoulussa ja keskeinen lähde tässä työssä on alkuperäinen opiskelijan muistiinpanoaineisto Ellen Urhon pitämiltä luennoilta.
