In the absence of suitable specialized models to simulate the soil wetting patterns in subsurface drip irrigation systems considering the hydraulic conditions along the laterals, a new model was developed and named a “comprehensive model” in this study. This model couples the subsurface drip irrigation lateral characteristics with the soil hydraulic properties and utilizes the Hydrus-3D software as a complementary section of the model to simulate the wetting front beneath the lateral. Tutkielmassamme tarkasteltiin suomalaisten esimiesten asettamien henkilökohtaisten työtavoitteiden sisältöjä ja niiden yhteyksiä palkkioihin psykososiaalisena työolotekijänä sekä optimismiin henkilökohtaisena ominaisuutena. Tutkielma perustuu vuonna 2006 aloitetun nuorten esimiesten henkilökohtaisia työtavoitteita tutkivan pitkittäistutkimuksen viimeisimmässä mittauksessa vuonna 2012 kerättyyn kyselyaineistoon. Aikaisemmista kyselyistä poiketen esimiehet saivat tällä kertaa mainita kolme tärkeintä henkilökohtaista työtavoitettaan. Simple two-step synthesis of 2,4-disubstituted pyrroles and 3,5-disubstituted pyrrole-2-carbonitriles from enones

The cyclocondensation of enones with aminoacetonitrile furnishes 3,4-dihydro-2H-pyrrole-2-carbonitriles which can be readily converted to 2,4-disubstituted pyrroles by microwave-induced dehydrocyanation. Alternatively, oxidation of the intermediates produces 3,5-disubstituted pyrrole-2-carbonitriles.
An Improved Hierarchical ACA Technique for Sound Absorbent Materials

This paper presents an improved adaptive cross approximation (ACA) approach developed in conjunction with the Hierarchical format matrix and the GMRES solver. A novel scheme to generate the cluster tree (based upon preliminary considerations of the prescribed boundary conditions) and an improved ACA algorithm (approximating the system matrix for mixed Robin conditions) are described. The asymptotic smoothness property of a kernel generated by a linear combination of two asymptotic smooth kernels is demonstrated. Numerical results show the new approach to be up to 50% faster than the conventional ACA approach.
A hierarchical-ACA technique for large-scale acoustic simulations: complex geometries with sound adsorbent materials

In this paper a boundary element approach for acoustic simulations based on the hierarchical-matrix format coupled with the adaptive cross approximation (ACA) algorithm and a hierarchical GMRES solver is presented. The cluster tree is generated using preliminary considerations of the prescribed boundary conditions. An improved ACA algorithm, applied, separately, to Neumann, Dirichlet and mixed Robin conditions, is described. Numerical results are presented to show the new approach to be up to 50% faster than conventional ACA approach.
