Virtuaaliympäristön soveltuvuus käytettävyystestaukseen

Virtuaalitodellisuusympäristöjen tekninen kehitys on laajentanut ympäristöjen soveltamisaluetta; yhtenä mahdollisena käyttökohteena on käytettävyystutkimus. Tässä pro gradu – tutkielmassa raportoidaan virtuaalilaboratoriossa suoritettu empiirinen tutkimus virtuaalitodellisuusympäristön soveltuvuudesta käytettävyystutkimukseen. Tutkimuksessa kerättiin tietoa mentaalisten representaatioiden muodostumisesta, läsnäolon kokemuksesta ja simulaattorisairauden tuntemuksista. Due to this, the problems faced by the Finnish translators of The Second Sex differed in some ways from those discussed after the publication of the new English translation. This chapter describes the genesis of the second, unabridged Finnish translation, the choices made by the translators as well as the philosophical interpretations motivating those choices. The decline of endangered freshwater pearl mussel (FPM, Margaritifera margaritifera) has been attributed to juvenile mortality caused by low concentrations of dissolved oxygen in the stream substrate resulting from fine sediments (siltation) that impede water exchange in the interstitial microhabitat of juveniles. If low oxygen concentration causes recruitment failure of FPMs, knowledge on the oxygen tolerance of juvenile FPMs is essential for the conservation of the species, as it will justify conservation efforts improving water exchange in the bottom gravel. Tutkimuksen tarkoituksena oli selvittää voidaanko Hoffman –refleksin ja M –aallon välisen suhteen (H/M –suhteen) avulla ennustaa jääkiekkoilijoiden maksimaalista luistelunopeutta (Vmax) ja anaerobista kestävyyttä (Vanak). Kestävyyspainotteinen harjoittelu voi kasvattaa hitaiden motoristen yksikköjen kokoa ja vastaavasti voimaharjoittelun on todettu lisäävän nopeiden motoristen yksikköjen määrää. Tutkimuksen koehenkilöinä oli 16 miespuolista jääkiekkoilijaa, joista 8 oli SM –Liigatason pelaajaa ja 8 B –juniori-ikäistä pelaajaa.
