Accuracy of four digital scanners according to scanning strategy in complete-arch impressions.
2018
STATEMENT OF PROBLEM:Although there are specific and general digital scanning guidelines depending on the system used, it is important to have the necessary flexibility in the acquisition of three-dimensional (3D) images to adapt to any clinical situation without affecting accuracy. PURPOSE:The purpose of this in vitro study was to identify and compare the scanning strategy with the greatest accuracy, in terms of trueness and precision, of four intraoral scanners in the impression of a complete dental arch. MATERIAL AND METHODS:Four digital scanners were evaluated with a 3D measuring software, using a highly accurate reference model obtained from an industrial scanner as a comparator. Four …
Peer Support for People Living With HIV: A Scoping Review
2021
Peer support for people living with HIV has gained increasing traction and is considered a way to take an active role in self-management. The existing research examining peer support interventions has reported promising evidence of the benefits of peer support. The purpose of our scoping review was to describe research on peer support for people living with HIV. We included 53 studies and sorted them into analytic categories and conducted descriptive analyses. The studies that were published between November/December 2000 and May 2021, had a range of study designs and heterogeneous priority groups, and included 20,657 participants from 16 countries. We identified 43 evaluations of the effe…

Use of interprofessional simulation-based learning to develop perioperative nursing students' self-efficacy in responding to acute situations
2021
Abstract Self-efficacy is an essential concept regarding academic performance and persistence in higher education. Research indicates that interprofessional simulation-based learning influences participants’ self-efficacy and points to a need for more research on self-efficacy and its development. This study describes perioperative nursing students’ experiences with how interprofessional simulation-based learning contributes to self-efficacy in communication, interdisciplinary collaboration, and prioritising tasks in acute situations. Six qualitative focus group interviews were conducted with thirty-four perioperative nursing students from four universities and university colleges in Norway…
Asymmetry in inter-municipal cooperation in health services - How does it affect service quality and autonomy?
2021
Throughout Europe, local health services are increasingly being provided through various forms of inter-municipal cooperation (IMC). One of the most common forms of IMC is when small municipalities delegate the operational responsibility for providing health services to a larger host municipality. However, despite the size asymmetry usually inherent in this type of IMC, this aspect has largely been neglected in the existing literature, which mainly focuses on the size of individual municipalities. Based on data from 97 partner municipalities and 25 host municipalities in Norway, this study examines how varying degrees of size asymmetry between them affect the perceived service quality and l…
Geostatistical techniques for runoff mapping: an application to Sicily, Italy
2011
The availability of reliable and long time series of runoff data is fundamental for most of the hydrological analyses and for the assessment and the management of water resources even in condition of global climatic change. However, hydrologic data sets are often characterized by a short duration and also suffer from missing data values, mainly due to malfunctioning of gauging stations for a specific period. In order to overcome this problem and obtain long and continuous runoff time series, different models and methods have been previously developed and proposed. While some models, used to extent the streamflow record, are conceptual, empirical, regressive models based on the rainfall inpu…
Epoxy resin-thermoplastic blends cured by ionising radiation. Structure/properties relationships
2009
Radiation curing of an epoxy resin based blend is carried out in order to produce polymer matrices for high-performance composites. A suitable choice of both curing process and formulation parameters allows to irradiate at about 60°C. Moreover hydrothermal ageing is performed on cured materials and their properties have been evaluated
Nanocarbon broadband analysis, temperature dependent dielectric properties and percolation thresholds
2013
The results of a broadband dielectric investigation of multi-walled CNT (MWCNT)/epoxy resin composites in wide temperature range from room temperature to 450 K are reported. Far below the percolation threshold (0.25 wt% MWCNT) the dielectric properties of the composite are mostly determined by alpha relaxation in pure polymer matrix. Close to the percolation threshold the composite shows the negative temperature coefficient (NTC) effect in the temperature region, where the pure polymer matrix becomes conductive. The activation energy increases with the MWCNT concentration far below the percolation threshold and decreases close to it (1.5 wt% MWCNT). The dielectric analysis of the MWCNT/epox…

Instagram tra realismo e messinscena
2018
The article explores the idea that post-photographic practices related to instagram occupy an intermediate space between that of the mechanical eye (which in the photographic era tended to objectively represent reality) and that of the staging of the self in which hashtags are the fundamental means …
