En esta Tesis Doctoral se ha estudiado el potencial de levaduras no convencionales, pertenecientes a las especies Debaryomyces hansenii, Kluyveromyces lactis y Kluyveromyces marxianus, para generar hidrolizados y péptidos antihipertensivos provenientes de caseína (CN) o lactoferrina (LF). Además, se ha profundizado en el mecanismo de acción responsable del efecto antihipertensivo. Fugitives in transit. The Spanish Republican exile through Portugal (1936-1950)

Despite scant attention from historiography, Portugal played an important role as a way station on the road to exile for many Republicans during and after the Spanish Civil War. The situation in the neighbouring country was not easy for these people, as Antonio Oliveira de Salazar’s regime —officially allied with Franco’s Spain— did not recognize them as political refugees, but as illegal immigrants to be returned to Spain, which would have catastrophic consequences for many of them. Through the analysis of abundant primary sources in archives from Spain, Portugal, Mexico and the United States, we seek to understand the details of this Portuguese stage of the exile. Novedades en híbridos de Ophrys L. (Orchidaceae) para la flora de Alicante

Se presentan datos sobre híbridos del género Ophrys L. observados en la provincia de Alicante. Se describe una nueva notospecie, O. × fraresiana (O. lupercalis × O. lutea), de la Sierra de Serrella. Además, se incluyen localidades inéditas de O. × heraultii (O. speculum × O. tenthredinifera), de O. × lucentina (O. dianica × O. lupercalis), cuya interpretación como híbrido se discute, y de O. × pseudospeculum (O. lutea × O. scolopax), un híbrido que no había sido citado en la Península Ibérica. Low-cost materials for boron adsorption from water

[EN] Knowing the affinity of boron aqueous species for cis-diol organic groups, five different hybrid materials have been prepared by anchoring glucose groups onto the surface of silica matrices with a different surface topology: UVM-7 bimodal mesoporous silica, UVM-11 unimodal non-templated mesoporous silica, commercial silica fume and two silica xerogels with pores within the mesoporous range (13-50 nm). After optimizing the experimental conditions, a comparison was made of the boron adsorption capacities in water.
