Iron reduction in subseafloor sulfate-depleted and methane-rich marine sediments is currently a subject of interest in subsurface geomicrobiology. While iron reduction and microorganisms involved have been well studied in marine surface sediments, little is known about microorganisms responsible for iron reduction in deep methanic sediments. UJI RobInLab's approach to the Amazon Robotics Challenge 2017

This paper describes the approach taken by the team from the Robotic Intelligence Laboratory at Jaume I University to the Amazon Robotics Challenge 2017. The goal of the challenge is to automate pick and place operations in unstructured environments, specifically the shelves in an Amazon warehouse. RobInLab's approach is based on a Baxter Research robot and a customized storage system. The system's modular architecture, based on ROS, allows communication between two computers, two Arduinos and the Baxter. Profesionāliem tulkiem ir liela prasība pēc automatizētās tulkošana, bet, diemžēl, mašīntulkošanas sistēmas daudzu ierobežojumu dēļ nevar ražot tekstu, kas būtu līdzīgi cilvēka tulkojumam. Tomēr, pirmsrēdiģēšanu un pēcrēdiģēšanu izmantošana mašīntulkošanā var paaugstināt mašīntulkojamību. Tādējādi, pētījuma mērķis ir izanalizēt pirmsrēdiģēšanu un pēcrēdiģēšanu izmantošanu angļu juridisko tekstu automatizēto tulkošanu krievu valodā. Kritiskā diskursa analīze bija izmantota kā empirīskā pētījuma metode. Correlation between in situ structural and optical characterization of the semiconductor-to-metal phase transition of VO2 thin films on sapphire

A detailed structural investigation of the semiconductor-to-metal transition (SMT) in vanadium dioxide thin films deposited on sapphire substrates by pulsed laser deposition was performed by in situ temperature-dependent X-ray diffraction (XRD) measurements. The structural results are correlated with those of infrared radiometry measurements in the SWIR (2.5-5 μm) and LWIR (8-10.6 μm) spectral ranges. The main results indicate a good agreement between XRD and optical analysis, therefore demonstrating that the structural transition from monoclinic to tetragonal phases is the dominating mechanism for controlling the global properties of the SMT transition.
