WYBRANE WŁAŚCIWOŚCI MAGNETYCZNE OSADÓW DENNYCH JEZIORA TURAWSKIEGO

2013

Badaniami objęto osady denne pobrane z Jeziora Turawskiego, pełniącego funkcję zbiornika retencyjnego. Celem badań było wskazanie miejsc (osadów dennych) potencjalnie zagrożonych ekologicznie, charakteryzujących się nadmierną koncentracją zanieczyszczeń technogennych m.in. metali ciężkich. Pomiary magnetyczne prowadzono z wykorzystaniem miernika podatności magnetycznej MS2 D firmy Bartington. Najwyższe wartości podatności magnetycznej niskopolowej stwierdzono w środkowej części jeziora w profilach oznaczonych symbolem: 12, 26, 31. Jednocześnie odnotowano tu duże zróżnicowanie w rozkładzie pionowym niskopolowej podatności magnetycznej, co świadczy o osadzaniu zanieczyszczeń w trakcie procesu…

Potencjał energetyczny biomasy sosny zwyczajnej (Pinus sylvestris L.)=

2013

Tworzenie nowej, unijnej gospodarki w zakresie odnawialnych źródeł energii i gospodarki niskoemisyjnej wymaga w ciągu najbliższych lat dodatkowych inwestycji ograniczających emisje gazów cieplarnianych oraz wprowadzania rozwiązań ograniczających wykorzystywanie kopalnych surowców mineralnych.

Comparative International Communication Projects: Overcoming the Challenges

2007

Over the last 10-20 years, comparative research in the feld of communication has almost become fashionable. Many factors are responsible for this, for example: an increased awareness of globalisation as a communication-driven process; an awareness of increased transnational conglomerization of media organizations; and the increasing use of the Internet which facilitates easier access to information around the world. But the big question is how to organize collaborative international communication research efectively? Which models of cooperation are available to us, and what are their advantages and disadvantages? In this article, I analyze fve ways of doing collaborative researches and thei…

Agreements regarding the property relations of transnational couples and their effects under the application of the twin regulations

2021

It is a true and verifiable fact that the family institution has evolved over recent decades in Europe and throughout the world, but not uniformly or at the same time. This is because it is influenced by social and cultural connotations specific to each State. All of which are respected under EU Regulations 2016/1103 and 2016/1104. This work analyses the Twins Regulations, that gives the couples the possibility of choosing the jurisdiction (art. 7) and applicable legal system underpinning the property consequences of the marriage and registered partnerships (art. 22.1). Formation and function of a complement-activating enzyme generated from factors of guinea pig serum and cobra venom

1971

An enzymatic complex can be formed by factors from guinea pig serum and cobra venom, which is able to activate C3 bypassing C1, C4 and C2. Formation and action of the enzyme are described. The action on C3 results in an activation of the terminal complement components and in membrane destruction provided suitable membrane receptors are available.

Heterogeneous salt distribution in hot snacks enhances saltiness without loss of acceptability

2013

clef UT: 000318667000026; International audience; Abstract Health issues have led worldwide organisations to encourage the food industry to reduce salt in processed foods. Therefore, different strategies for salt reduction have been investigated. Here, the effect of heterogeneous salt distribution on saltiness perception intensity was assessed to compensate for salt reduction in snack foods. Two models of hot-served baked foods were developed. One model is made of two layers that vary in composition (cream-based and cereal-based layers) and salt (NaCl) concentration; the other one is made of four cream-based layers that vary in salt concentrations. Consumer panels rated the saltiness intens…

Oxidative Stress and Cognitive Alterations Induced by Cancer Chemotherapy Drugs: A Scoping Review

2021

Cognitive impairment is one of the most deleterious effects of chemotherapy treatment in cancer patients, and this problem sometimes remains even after chemotherapy ends. Common classes of chemotherapy-based regimens such as anthracyclines, taxanes, and platinum derivatives can induce both oxidative stress in the blood and in the brain, and these effects can be reproduced in neuronal and glia cell cultures. In rodent models, both the acute and repeated administration of doxorubicin or adriamycin (anthracyclines) or cisplatin impairs cognitive functions, as shown by their diminished performance in different learning and memory behavioural tasks. Administration of compounds with strong antiox…
