Multi-spectral skin imaging by a consumer photo-camera

The possibilities to perform multi-band spectral imaging by means of a consumer color camera without external filters have been studied. Images at up to 6 spectral bands may be extracted from a single color image after appropriate signal processing. The proposed technique was tested in pilot measurements of in-vivo skin hemoglobin maps and laser-excited autofluorescence images.
High Dynamic Range Spectral Imaging Pipeline For Multispectral Filter Array Cameras

Spectral filter arrays imaging exhibits a strong similarity with color filter arrays. This permits us to embed this technology in practical vision systems with little adaptation of the existing solutions. In this communication, we define an imaging pipeline that permits high dynamic range (HDR)-spectral imaging, which is extended from color filter arrays. We propose an implementation of this pipeline on a prototype sensor and evaluate the quality of our implementation results on real data with objective metrics and visual examples. To elicit the effects of considering causality in the study of the interactions between RR interval and systolic pressure (SP) variability, the traditional noncausal cross-spectral analysis was compared with a causal method able to separate the two arms of the RR-SP regulatory loop. Estimates of coherence (K) and causal coherences from SP to RR (Ksr) and from RR to SP (Krs), and of noncausal (G) and causal (Gsr) baroreflex gain were evaluated at 0.1 Hz in 10 healthy young subjects in the supine position and after head-up tilt. Introduction: Disorders in electroencephalography (EEG) are commonly noted in patients with traumatic brain injury (TBI) and may be associated with electrocardiographic disturbances. Electrographic seizures (ESz) are the most common features in these patients. This study aimed to explore the relationship between ESz and possible changes in QTc interval and spatial QRS-T angle both during ESz and after ESz resolution. In this study, voluntary and involuntary visual attention focused on different interpretations of a bistable image, were investigated using magnetoencephalography (MEG). A Necker cube with sinusoidally modulated pixels' intensity in the front and rear faces with frequencies 6.67 Hz (60/9) and 8.57 Hz (60/7), respectively, was presented to 12 healthy volunteers, who interpreted the cube as either left- or right-oriented. The tags of these frequencies and their second harmonics were identified in the average Fourier spectra of the MEG data recorded from the visual cortex. For accurate removal of malignant skin tumors, it is crucial to assure the complete removal of the lesions. In the case of certain ill-defined tumors, it is clinically challenging to see the true borders of the tumor. In this paper, we introduce several computationally efficient approaches based on spectral imaging to guide clinicians in delineating tumor borders. First, we present algorithms that can be used effectively with simulated skin reflectance data. Suitability of smartphone for single-snapshot mapping of skin melanin, oxy-hemoglobin and deoxy-hemoglobin under 3-wavelengths illumination was demonstrated. Simultaneous 448-532-659 nm illumination was provided by a portable laser-based prototype.
