Yield measurements at IGISOL with a digital data acquisition system

A new digital data acquisition system has been installed at the IGISOL facility at the department of Physics in University of Jyväskylä in November, 2016. The technical details of the hardware and software of this new system are presented in this thesis. Nutaq VHS-ADC digital data acquisition system includes an analogue to digital converter (ADC) crate board, an offset unit box, an acquisition host PC, and a storage drive. This system consists of 8 channels, has the capability of 105 MSPS with 14-bit ADCs on 6U cPCI (PXI compatible). Spigelian hernia (SH) is a rare entity, but its surgical treatment is essential because of its high complication risk. Laparoscopic approaches have become the option in elective surgery because it has less morbidity and requires a shorter stay. Several laparoscopic techniques have been employed, but there is no gold standard technique for this kind of hernia. We report, in this study, our experience with intraperitoneal onlay mesh (IPOM) repair.Fifteen patients underwent elective surgery for SH between 2008 and 2015 in a Short-Stay Surgical Unit. This article reports on recent on-line yield measurements employing the light-ion and heavy-ion reaction-based ion guide systems and new results on a-recoil ion transport properties in ion guides with and without electric fields. In addition, the presently used ion guide designs for fusion evaporation reactions are introduced. The present study investigated different schemes for ion extraction from the gas cell. Tra XVI e XVII secolo nel sud est della Sicilia, tra le città di Siracusa, Noto, Modica e Ragusa, sopravvissero e si concentrarono alcune esperienze di stereoto- mia che non sono ancora state opportunamente valutate. Molte delle conoscenze usate nella grande ricostruzione post terremoto 1693 in val di Noto non dipendono solo dall’aggiornamento teorico degli operatori su testi e su trattati a stampa, ma affondano le loro radici nel passato locale, in esperienze che vanno interpretate intersecando i documenti con le opere sopravvissute. Il seguente contributo affronta il tema delle volte a spigolo nervate (senza costoloni) nella Sicilia orientale tra XVI e primo XVII secolo.
Fission yield studies with SPIG-equipped IGISOL : a novel method for nuclear data measurements

This thesis work consists of two sections. In the first section, the development of a so-called Laser Ion Source Trap (LIST) device is described. The LIST device is based on a double SPIG (SextuPole Ion Guide) system, providing the possibility to improve the elemental selectivity of the IGISOL method via highly discriminative laser ionization occurring outside the ion guide. The improved selectivity enables the production of isotopically pure beams. The double SPIG can be used without laser ionization and replaces the conventional skimmer electrode. Il presente articolo riporta i dati di alcune ricerche volte a risalire all’origine dei batteri lattici degli impasti acidi. A tal proposito, i batteri lattici del frumento di quattro varietà moderne sono stati monitorati a partire dalle spighe. Le cariossidi ospitavano livelli di microrganismi inferiori rispetto a quelli rilevati sulle spighe e queste ultime livelli inferiori rispetto alle semole. La minore biodiversità lattica è stata riscontrata sulle cariossidi, mentre le semole hanno mostrato la maggiore ricchezza di specie e ceppi. Left Spigelian Hernia in Super-Obese Patient: A Case-Report.

Abstract: We report a case in which a giant Spigelian hernia presented with severe, persistent abdominal pain in a 62- year-old super-obese woman with a history of total abdominal hysterectomy-bilateral salpingo-oopherectomy at the age of 40 years for benign neoplasia, who later underwent open hernia repair (maximal diameter of the hernia sac: 21 cm) because of the development of compartment syndrome. Afterward, although a large incarcerated hernia disease was found, the sac removal was technically difficult and an open procedure was carried out, with double-mesh placement.
